t started with all the gateway bullcrap, but even now exists in *you can't make a thread about anything without a legion of luma 3ds worshippers telling you how zomg awesum33ds.guide is check out the guide bro I'm special I hacked my 3ds its sooo epikk*

I don't think it's epic to hack a 3ds now, but the a9lh guide was so long with a risk of brick when it first came out that a lot of noobs would just buy the console already hacked. that's when I could see a 3ds going for a lot of money. now, I think a hacked one is only worth like five bucks more than a nonhacked one. I wouldn't pay anymore than that for one.
