9. Go to title/0040010/00022300/content for a EU emunand, title/0040010/00021300/content for a US one, and title/0040010/00020300/content for a JP one.
i can´t found this on my 3ds folder my 3ds folder is like this
E:\Nintendo 3DS\26f33ff3dae44710fae9eb596444d864\f28600e4471411b1534131360002544d\title\00040000\00193000\content
You're supposed to do that in WinImage once you do the other steps to get the emuNAND.fat16.bin.

ok now im on step 15. Restore your emunand with emunand tool. but the emunand tool he gave me has 2 choices Extract emuNAND and Inject Nand to emuNAND what´s the correct choice? i think its Inject NAND to emuNAND but it ask me for NAND.bin not for emuNAND.bin or i should use NAND.bin from my nand backup?

Inject is the correct option. You want to use the emuNAND.bin that's in the FBI Injection folder.

After you inject it, you're done with the emuNAND.bin. Put your SD back in your 3DS and test to see if when you click on the Health & Safety icon FBI launches (once you're in emuNAND).

You don't put the file in the SD card, you just use the inject option on the tool and pick the emunand that you want to inject.
so the inject option inject it directly to the sd card?
can i erase it now?

and Bob thanks for all your help now i have devmenu on my emunand and now im going to unlink the emunand

You got DevMenu uninstalled from sysNAND? And yep, you can erase the emuNAND.bin (unless you want to keep it as a backup). Glad I could help!

@MattKimura
...uhm, wow, so, like, my N3DS has 2 souls now? What?

Anyway, I've managed to salvage the unbootable Emunand saves thanks to @Ichii Giki's tut on how to do a manual transfer (and whoever's tools are used on the process and mentioned there) and also thanks to whatever Ninty's engineer that overlooked the system's individual xorpad being essentially immutable.
Lost a NNID on the process (too lazy to call up on one without purchases nor positive balance) but not everything is meant to be a field of flowers anyway.

Now I'm off to clean up some 8GB of mid-process NANDs off my SSD. BRB

@Derfderk No the N3DS would inherit the soul of the old 3DS, and completely replace it :P

Sorry if I wasn't any help, I really hope you can get that save data back for your sis. If you need help restoring those saves for whatever game it is, maybe I can help.

I am having trouble acquiring my secureinfo_a file from my O3DS. I want to change region of my JP N3DS using this guide. http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-create-a-north-american-non-xl-new-3ds.387818/

rxtools and cearps tool are not working for me for whatever reason.

I have a nand.bin dump, but I am confused on how to extract the secureinfo_a file. I tried to extract the fat16 partition using this tool, but again could not get it to run properly. https://gbatemp.net/threads/release...t-the-fat16-partition-from-nand-dumps.380101/

Can anyone give a basic guide to extracting a secureinfo_a file from a nand.bin dump?

Yup, emunand tool and Sky3ds automatically detect and read from SD card types... I had a really big headache when I first used them, I have used USB adapaters with my memory cards all my life and I didn't understand why I was unable to use the programs, the programs never read my SD cards or let me open any directory to use them... Until I figured out that it was because they were read as USB conections by the computer rather than SD cards lol...

I have a New 3DS XL (USA) with a 9.0 firmware. What's the easiest way to play Japanese games? The actual games themselves? (I have a Japanese 3DS game I want to play.)

Do you want to actually play a cartridge or a rom? Your best choice would be Gateway, but then you also need to buy Cubic Ninja or Zelda OoT. You can ship your 3DS to someone and they can set it up for you with their copy of Cubic Ninja.

Other than that, you can use SKy3DS + Cubic Ninja for region free. (More expensive)

OR you can use Pasta CFW which requires Cubic Ninja. (Prob your best free option, minus the need to buy Cubic Ninja)

hugely noob question but what exactly do I need to hack my 3ds please help me I have no idea what Im doing and I can't understand any of this I don't even know what a flash card is
is it even possible I'm running ver. 9.8.0-25E
Currently there's no known way to play game backups on 9.8.0-25. You may consider selling your 3DS and buy another one with lower firmware version.
