What if I later wanted to replace the splashscreen?

The way it's stored currently makes it easy as it's basically a Windows bitmap with the header removed.

I'm going to prefer the compression option. Drawing it programatically would imply I'd need to somehow embed the fonts that are used and an adapted text renderer.

Oh, my bad then. I thought it was just the 2px blue border on a black background.

Just wanted to give this one a try and, well, Secret of Mana (Germany) froze at the Nintendo logo and Super Metroid (Europe) froze the whole 3DS, hahaha. Second try loaded it without a prob (and without sound) tho.

which version should I use? the newest one from this thread?
Does it have sound like the build I use`?
no but the one with sound is a WIP build and as such staplebutter doesnt need to deal with support on a beta build....use soundless or wait for a official build

Yes, it is, it hasn't been officially released :P
haha, oh well. Super Metroid runs pretty good, Samus's sprite disappears from time to time (at least in the beginning with all the gas leaks, maybe too many sprites at once?) but other than that (and the no sound thing) I think I like it more than the SCDS2 SNES emulator already.
€dit: hmm, blargSnes really seems to like to freeze my 3DS. :D

I'm curious- is it possible for this emu to boot the old 3ds into the same bare-bones menu mode used by Smash Bros to free up more memory? Or does that require a full system restart?

An option for touch screen display would be nice too, so we can avoid the ugly "scanlines" and ghosting on the top screen in 2D mode.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
