Ye its a shame, if the Vita was doing better here and had more worthwhile games I wouldn't mind getting one to play this so much as it wouldnt be £250 or whatever for a single game. As it stands though it's simply not worth the investment for me.

I'll keep checking back and waiting for the final decision as to the state of this translation.

If your lucky you can get one on ebay for £90, i did

We can look at maybe extracting the files from the Vita version and inserting them into the PSP game, but that may not be possible. The game is, as far as I know, only being released as a download, so it will be encrypted. We'll have to see if we can get around the encryption used. If we can't, then the release of Hollow Fragment doesn't really change things for us.

well at the very least you wouldn't have to translate anything yourself right? You'd just need to find out what text to replace.

That's more difficult than it sounds. The text in Infinity Moment is split up into thousands of files with arbitrary names to them. Cutscenes can usually be found by sorting them by size, but I don't know where something is in the plot until I start translating it. Using Hollow Fragment to translate the game if the files can't be extracted would mean getting to a given scene in Hollow Fragment, getting to the same scene in Infinity Moment, then searching for the presented Japanese text (and reading kanji on such a small screen is difficult for me, though the furigana might help) in the extracted files, then manually keying in the text. That might be somewhat faster than making a new translation, and would definitely be helpful when the editing stage comes around, but it would be a savings of weeks rather than months off of the total time needed to localize the game.

in many stores across the UK (Game / Cex, etc,) they are only £99 (less if you trade in). And even new ones with SD Card and game pack is only about £150.
And if you make a US account instead of a EU one, you can get digital copies cheaper ($30 instead of £30).
I recommend Play-Asia for the game cards (just be sure to get the digital version of the US cards and not the hard copy version)

It seems like they used the same script as the asian release, and made some corrections to remove the bad "Engrish" translations, but its still not perfect.

And faaaaaaaaaar from perfect. Which is sad. Yeah, there's still some Engrish there, missing ,'s and .'s where they SHOULD be and they are almost always there when they DON'T need to be, WHOLE A LOT ~-button raping and other fun stuff. Usually, chats between the characters doesn't make any sense at all. Top of that, the game doesn't have English voiceover which is a bummer since US version of the show have good voice actors.

It feels like I just bought the game for 39,95€ with some shitty fan translation. I really hope that you guys will do MUCH better job if you're still try to translate the game!

Because of this Bamco's translation fiasco, I'm really worried about fate of Tales of Hearts. It's like Capcom's Breath of Fire translations from the 90's all over again.

The official translation is...surprisingly unprofessional. The pronoun 'you' is never used, and instead, the characters refer to other characters in the room as if they weren't there. Almost like the translators didn't speak English as a native language. It's very awkward. The chat minigame also doesn't make sense. It's a fun game, and it's very playable, but I'm bugged by the amount of errors I'm seeing from a large company's translation.

That's unfortunate. We're discussing the release, and what we plan to do at this point. A final decision hasn't been made, but keep in mind that we're basically a Polish democracy. We need the skills of basically everyone in the group if we're going to make a patch of better quality than the official release, and as a volunteer group we don't have any ability to make people keep working on this if they don't really want to. I know that I, personally, am a lot less motivated to work on this project than I was when I started, and I think that's true for most of the group.

It sounds like the official translators make a more or less accurate translation, but didn't really localize it. Referring to others by name, in the third person, is quite common in Japanese, and using pronouns isn't. It doesn't sound like it would take much to correct the script and make a much better localization out of it. Maybe I'll see if we can get a dump of the HF ISO, and bug Omar to try to decrypt it.

The translation after the big patch vastly improved translation for the asian version. The western version would probably fix most of the translation errors. Seems the western version used a somewhat refined version of the asian version's first script. Also, vita games have still not been hacked and the dumping of the carts are still not public.

so am i taking this wrong or hollow fragment is infinity moment?
is this still making progress?
At the moment, we've been talking about Hollow Fragment, which just came out, the first half of which is the same story as Infinity Moment. Right now, no, progress is not being made, in part because most of the team members are working on other projects, and in part because we've been trying to deicde what to do now that Hollow Fragment has gotten an English release.

I know that it says that this kinda comment will be deleted or ignored, but I have an idea. Not a good one, but an idea nonetheless. Release the patch as it is, and see how it is. You may be able to get other translators and patchers to help with the progress. Also, another reason to do it is because alot of people may have psps but not ps vitas as they are expensive, so you could actually get alot of people to use it. You would be a big help anyway, as alot of us don't not japanese, only have psps and are DYING to play infinity moment...like me!

I know that feeling,here a psvita worth the same as a ps4.

But the only situation where they should release a patch maybe will be: after they're 99% sure of released it.

Regardless of the decision they choose,i'm grateful they have worked so far in spite of the trolls and RL issues, because they show us that any game with a little(and alot) of skill and love can be translated :P
Sry for my awful enGRish xD

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.

He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.
