They are using a different brand of IC, and its not affect by certain noisey drives like some D2pros where, which means the infamous 'eject issue' the d2pro had, should never happen. The only thing the wiikey v2 doesn't have, its the ability to upgrade 100% of the code on the modchip. You should never really need to upgrade that middle chip at all anyway, as nintendo can't really touch the firmware on the DVD drive from a Wii update."
