Hardware D2Pro v3 vs Wiikey v2

PRICE IS NOT AN ISSUE HERE. Wiikey v2 is like $10 cheaper btw.

The answer in short is, not much at all. Wiikey version 2 is still made by the same team. It is still made of high quality hardware. It same the same compatibility with games (100% from PAL region, about 70% of NTSC games). It sstill upgradeable via DVD. The 1 plus that the wiikey version 2 has on the d2pro is its stability. They are using a different brand of IC, and its not affect by certain noisey drives like some D2pros where, which means the infamous 'eject issue' the d2pro had, should never happen. The only thing the wiikey v2 doesn't have, its the ability to upgrade 100% of the code on the modchip. You should never really need to upgrade that middle chip at all anyway, as nintendo can't really touch the firmware on the DVD drive from a Wii update."

1. according to ozmodchips "more stability due to different brand of IC, so no noisey drives lead to "eject issues"
2. I read on another thread wiikey v2 can autoboot in case of banner bricks, where d2pro cant.

Confirm this/add more.

On the other wiikey v2 thread, im reading support for v1 was shit. "nearly 1 year long wait for the 'audio-fix' which they broke again anyway with 1.9s." balls. different coder, same factory. wiikey v1 had a fair amount of chips that were dead on arrival

it's funny, because the wiikey team went form being the worst to the very best. Wonder how support for this will turn out.

get the d2pro its proven to be stable and updates come out when needed.

also its the most expensive chip, and it support jtag and dvd update.

Get the Wiikey2. The tam has a record of abandoning it's old modchips and since they have moved on to the wiikey2 they probably won't support the D2Pro anymore...
