Over a year after the first batch of Mario Kart-themed Hot Wheels items, a listing has recently appeared on Amazon for a new Hot Wheels track based on Rainbow Road. While the listing seems to be inactive now, pre-orders were reportedly available when it was first spotted, going for $119.99. The design for Rainbow Road appears to be based off the more recent Mario Kart games, given its more solid and metallic look. The set will also include a set of Mario and King Boo karts at 1:64 scale, matching the sets released in 2019.

Okay first of all the track should be a closed loop. Second, the rainbow parts shouldn't have guide rails, I mean come on.

I like this in concept, but this looks like the most basic hot wheels track possible. "Just repaint it for Mario, they'll still buy it" I'm sure is how the conversation went. Pity, too, because this would've been a good opportunity for a really cool and unique race track.
