Which slot 2 would you recommend ?
Just like DS flashcards, there is no universal best model - what do you want out of it?
The main choices are between an ezflash 3in1 (older tech also getting harder to find, needs a DS flashcard to load roms from, also does rumble and DS memory expansion, compatible with DS games that do something if a GBA game is inserted) versus an actual GBA flashcard like the ezflash omega or everdrive (significantly faster loading in general but especially for 32 MB titles, are available in full size for use with an original DS or any GBA compatible system, have their own microSD and don't need a DS flashcard at all)

Best options as of this moment in time:

Nintendo DS:
- R4i Gold 3DS Plus

Details:
Runs Wood R4 (v1.64) and is one of the very popular kernels out there, as well as one of the most compatible kernels rocking support for 99.8% of the titles out there. If you like using cheat codes this kernel also has superb cheat support as well, other features are included, read more on it once you decide to snag this flashcart for yourself.

Game Boy Advance/Nintendo DS (Slot 2):
- EZ-Flash Omega

Notable features:
  • GBA game copy and play, no client needed
  • Fast patch engine, instant game loading speed, additional manual patch engine to support modified ROM(s)
  • Save directly to the SD card
  • Cheat support
  • Save/load states
  • Real time clock
  • Sleep mode
  • Hotkey customization
  • 256Mb PSRAM support for all games, instant loading
  • 512Mb NOR flash to run your favorite titles directly
  • GB/GBC/NES game copy and play (emulated)
  • System on chip (SoC) recovery mode for bricks.
  • Supports FAT16/FAT32/exFat 128MB-128GB microSD/HC/XC cards
  • Upgradable firmware/kernel
Overall this is essentially a must have flashcart, alternatively you could get the Everdrive GBA X5, though that is a bit more pricey.

As a side note, I see some people mentioning the 3in1 as a slot 2 solution, however I do have to mention that the 3in1 is heavily aged. The Omega model can do the important tasks already, especially since it sports 512Mb NOR flashing, something the 3in1 doesn’t, games already load instantly without having to patch anything as well, so really you have no need for the 3in1 unless you just want a collectors item. The only edge the 3in1 has is rumble and RAM expansion, both of which are used exclusively for DS titles, RAM expansion being only used by the DS Browser (by licensed means, not counting whatever homebrew may use it). Both features are note worthy but you can’t argue with facts, they weren’t used for those purposes, the 3in1 was used for GBA related content, so the Omega would most definitely fit those needs way more than the 3in1.

Nothing super special, just need to go to the respective websites for each flashcart and grab what’s needed in order for them to work as intended. If you need help with that you can always ask here or head over to Discord, I’m more active there than I am here.

If you want something more user friendly, something that has a greater chance to run whatever games they want to play, etc. go with the R4i Gold 3DS Plus.

What flash card would you recommend for Nintendo Lite? I was thinking about R4i Gold 3DS Plus for DS games and EZ-Flash Omega for GBA games. Is it the best possible choice? Where should I buy it - aliexpres/ebay?

The R4-SDHC will do just fine for DS games. No timebomb and cheap.
I wouldn't recommend bying from AliExpress unless you know of a seller that has a good reputation and doesn't sell you anything that won't work anymore a year from now.
NDS-Card is a GBAtemp Trusted Reseller so you know you get what you pay for. I'd have posted a link to the card but the forums won't let me since I'm still considered a newbie here (even though I've been a member for 12 years already :D )

Instead of buying a flashcard, buy a second hand DSI (I see them for 25 bucks), you won't need a flashcard.
But that isn't what they wanted, or asked for.

Any NDS flashcard that can run GBARunner2 can run GBA games. Best option is the R4i Gold 3DS Plus.

If you had a chance to get an original R4 Revolution for DS or a clone (owner isn't sure, sticker is right but it's in a white card shell) for like $10 would it serve you fine if you're just using a DS/DSLite? I'm talking not even for DS rom play as much as just emulators and stuff like NeoDS etc?

So my R4i Gold 3DS Plus cards all started glitching at the same time. I ordered them in 2018. I know they aren't supposed to have timebombs, but SOMETHING happened, as even an unopened card glitched when I tried it. I tried multiple combinations of DS lites, SD cards, etc.

So

you guys helped me before, and I'm still sort of a noob to all this. What card should I buy now?

I can't find the r4i gold 3DS Plus ANYWHERE.

Any other suggestions that run wood and don't have timebombs, or, can you swinging gbatemp hepcats turn me on to a seller for more r4i gold 3ds plus?

I use them just to play ds games, and a little GB and GBC, and I gave them to my niece and nephew, too, and wife, and brother, and had one unopened. And, yeah, after going on 2 years, they all crashed. Not sure if it was a bad batch or what.

any help would be appreciated greatly.

Define glitching?

Late reply but, you'll be limited to 2GB size, which is a bit small IMO, unless you can find the fabled 4GB MicroSD (non HC). I don't think they even made the OG R4 in a white shell, it was always gray.
