If you want to preserve your fuses, then yes. If you don't care about your fuses and thus downgrading for future exploits on lower firmwares and/or you are using EmuNAND, then you can disable it in ChoiDujourNX.

Considering all .NSP files don't work on 7.X for the time being, I would only update if you play online with legitimately owned games. There is very little reason to update to 7.X right now.

So i formated my card to fat32 since the sx os guide said it was safer (wish i didn't) and now can't put big games in the SD, there's a easy way to move everything to exfat? can i just copy everything out - format to exfat - then copy it again? also what's the best splitter in case it's not that easy to move to exfat.

You can use Tinfoil's Install from USB method for installing games to a FAT32 SD card. Just install from a PC and you never have to have the actual nsp files on your Switch (and hence no worry about >4GB files).

Most of DevMenu's functions have been made redundant so demand for it has also dropped. I don't even know where to look. Maybe try searching DevMenu 6.2 or something since DevMenu doesn't work past that firmware.
Ok. Thanks! One last question, any other way to play smash without updating? I’m fine with restarting. I just want to play smash again

The only other thing you can try is restoring a NAND backup made before this started happening. If you don't have that, you will have to install the update either legally or illegally.

A few of my games that I installed using goldleaf say that some necessary data could not be found. It will be downloaded now .

The games are my own cart dumps converted from xci to nsp.
My micro SD is fat32, but I did had it exfat before and it had the same problem.

A couple of the games in question are The binding of Issac and Sine Mora Ex.

Hi, I have an updated (7.0.1) unpatched switch that I use for online games that I would like to hack.
Can I buy any (patched/unpatched) switch, move my account and games over to it and use my unpatched switch as a homebrew/game machine?
Or should I look for another unpatched switch on lower firmware for hacking?

If I update and I’m banned, will it still work? And I changed my sad card completely from when I made a nand backup, will the backup still work?

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
