It's functional but far from ideal.

If you save your game on a real GBA you can just power it off and you don't lose anything

In RetroArch GBA, however, you need to save your game, press + and - simultaneously, go down to 'Close Content', press B to go back a menu, then go down to 'Quit RetroArch', else your in-game progress is forfeit.

Its a retroarch thing, has nothing to do with me (btw I think you only need close content, but using both is save)

This is an emulator not a console..

Aren't they paid via Patreon? Either way, I apologize if my slight disappointment came off as too impolite for you.

So saving will always be jank. That's really unfortunate
Could fix that up for the switch (or we just wait till we have a proper process manager and going to home isnt like using taskmanager to kill the process)

I am not paid for anything.

Actually if I did all the stuff I did for retroarch in office hours, I would have like 2k extra ;)

You really need to get a patreon going then, the cemu team is raking in almost 10k a month. While emulation on a switch doesn't have as broad of an appeal there are plenty of people who are willing to help out programmers. Anything > 0.

I will consider it, not sure how good it is for my taxes tho.

@m4xw what fw are you on?

5.1

I just updated to the latest myself since I have a second Switch to boot on version 3.0
But I do think (since Atmosphere is being released and will support emunand) homebrew development would be faster if like it was happening on the latest fw. Maybe the backward compatibility is what is holding progress back.
Don't get me wrong on this. It's just a suggestion cause down the line everyone will be using the latest fw once Atmosphere launches.

I have a custom config for various settings (mostly to clean up the menus and to define rom directories)

Is there (or will there be) any way to load the config automatically?

just place it in the same folder as the nro.

But loading configs is bugged on threaded builds, so it might crash or not work at all, or maybe it does

The name of the config the snes core made is called 'RetroArch-0609-190244..cfg', are the 2 periods before the cfg normal? Also should I rename the cfg to something specific?

retroarch.cfg

The generated config wont run tho unless you load it manually, then save current config.

Perfect! I loaded up RetroArch SNES, changed various settings and directories, then saved a new configuration, which created 'RetroArch-0609-190244..cfg' in the /switch/ folder, I renamed that to 'retroarch.cfg' and placed it into '/switch/Emulators/snes9x2010' (the same folder as vba-next.nro) and it loads automatically without any issue! ❤❤❤

Can you post that config?

Great game. But I'd buy it straight up before paying for prime. Unless you order something everyday from amazon, not worth it imo
