Hey guys,

Well done to everyone doing such amazing stuff here!

Is Dosbox or P-UAE something that is a relatively easy possibility to get running? Or is it still a very intense process?

Thanks so much

Hello!

As far as I'm aware, Retroarch.rpx has a problem and can't be loaded from homebrew launcher. Launching it via channel should work. At least, a few months old version I'm using works when launched via Channel (from Wii U menu). Someone mentioned you could rename some core .rpx (Vice for example) to Retroarch.rpx and then use it via homebrew launcher. Maybe you could try that approach and see if it works.

Best regards,
Davor

Thank you for the reply Davor.
I'm not touching the retroarch.rpx so I'm not sure if renaming different one would help
Can I ask you where you got your forwarder? Maybe my forwarder sucks or something :S

Hello!

Someone posted a link in this topic, but, since it was few months ago, I really don't know what page was it on, nor if the link is still valid. I can try to find it, if I still have it on my computer when I get home later tonight. If I find it, I'll post a link here.

Best regards,
Davor

Is it the mega link on first page by any chance?

Ok LOL i understand now why it was not working (the input) :
N8qg4X1.jpg

in game you have to first go to quick menu control and choose the user 1 device .
You can set it to Kempston Joystick for example.

then you can use + to toggle the virtual keyboard you start the game ( 1 then 3 then 5 ) .
tested also r-type (the game not me :D) , works great Z80 and TAP.

I made a PR for the endian flags, now waiting the approval . (edit: PR merged should be there quickly)
Fantastic! Jetpac working fine with the latest fuse rpx. Will try a few more then check games like 3D Escape to see if I configure/map keyboard controls

Couple last queries on the Vice C64 core (Fuse seems working fine as long as I restart retroarch between loading each game)
a) how do you actually make keypresses against the pop up keyboard you can access with Retrok_F9 (i think it defaults to Y on the game Pad)
b) i find Retrok_F10 brings up the Vice GUI but again, i can’t seem to use it or even close this screen once it appears.
The only success I’ve had is to play games that use one of the two joy ports as I can’t figure how to swap ports in the Vice gui.
Thanks in advance for any tips

I think the channel in my sig is online.

OP link updated. Times like these I wish the channel was open-source (or RetroArch was a channel in and of itself...)

Speaking of; I was wondering if I could ask you guys a bit of a favour. I've had some ideas bouncing around for RetroArch Wii U changes; but I recognise they could cause some issues for people if I just went ahead and did it. So; I've put together this survey to try and get an idea of how people use RetroArch Wii U. This should help inform both me and the other devs with decisions around RetroArch. It's only a few questions, and most of them are optional; so it shouldn't take you long. Thanks in advance! Here's a link.

Guys is there any video of retroarch vs inject vc graphic comparison on the web?
I cant get the Retroarch to work so Im thinking of simply going the dirty way and play FF6 on the VC.

Considering that Wii U SNES VC is generally considered to be really good (unlike NES and N64) I wouldn't worry too much about whatever minor differences there are. So long as it's a compatible game you shouldn't have any problems.

Snes Wii U VC doesn't emulate some of the sound properly, and FF6 has weird slowdown issues when entering a battle.

That's a shame. Hopefully, it's not too distracting. After all, if the Wii64/WiiSX compatibility charts are anything to go by most people on these forums are willing to put up with way more severe emulation bugs than occasional slowdown and some audio quirks.

That, and SPC700 functions (sound chip), in games like Secret of Evermore have entirely missing sound channels, Earthworm Jim 2 has no S-SMP audio streaming (missing sound effects). I mean, don't let us stop you from using injects, but Snes9x on RetroArch Wii U is far superior to anything officially emulated on Wii U Snes.

I have to play muted most of the time so I dont mind that. I thought the picture is very dark in VCs compared to Retroarch
