I have to admit that this flashcart is awesome and has a lot of interesting features, but the main problem is that is extremely over priced, since carts for ntrboothax are around 20 dolars, so I thing a price of 30-40 bucks is worth of it.
You don't even need to spend money if you have a friend or someone in your area that has a ntrboothax flashcart.

Agree. I'd buy it for the novelty and to try something new, if it has some sort of extra feature, but $80 is too much to buy something I don't really need.

It's not even as if I dislike Gateway - their cart served me well for at least 2 years, and I used to still use it alongside Luma as an extra SD card slot until B9S came out and made Gateway unusable.

But in terms of the scene, it's healthy to move away from superfluous extra hardware if possible

Say what? I STILL use both side-by-side. I build my own nightlies of everything for the most part, so I promise you, b9s doesn't make it unusable, and neither does Luma.

I'm a sucker for anything related to hacking/homebrew/flashcarts so I'll probably order the stargate as soon as I get somewhere where I can access the axio site. Heck, I even have a Sky3ds+, and I've been in the scene since GW started (read: BEFORE CFW existed). That's even considering the fact that I have a physical copy of CN, and OOT, so I NEVER really needed one :P

So this is a cart from the gateway team? Im thinking to myself, I really dont need this, but for some reason I feel the need to get one. If it is gateway, then I think I might pass...

Lol at everyone talking about "convenience" when you have to do magnethax every time you boot with this thing. So you need to carry a magnet with your 3DS (or be using an Old 2DS i guess). "the convenience advantage of flashcarts" doesn't exist on 3DS when CFW lets you install files directly to NAND, but it exists even less with this thing.

Interesting, I had been assuming that it was just done once to install some kind of CFW.

What? No, you don't have to do that every time. That's just to install the exploit.

that cool and all but if it doesn't have his own cfw, why is there ntrboothax ?

Maybe to make extra money, but without the DS mode it's just a sky3DS v3

If they have cheat support for 3DS games i'll buy one, at least if the other ntrboot flashcard are out of stock, you'll have this one.
i'm with you on the cheat support

I suppose it could be booted through *hax or something. But I had used the A9LH payload until I switched to B9S.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It'd be the same as a new DS flashcart coming out in 2010. Not a strange concept.
The difference is that we still rely on flashcarts for the DS rather than CFW.

THis new cart seems to be an attempt to do it all.

considering how expensive the sky3ds is, i expect this will be at least as expensive as one.

What sky3ds is good for.
1) truly backing up your games and playing them online with OFW. done properly with your own private headers, it's even legal.
2) using cart exploits on vulnerable firmwares for hacking. i have set my sky3ds for doing that (it can do oot3dhax, for example)

now we add on a ds flashcard to that, and a pre-flashed ntrboot card, and we have the card that does everything.

Considering it gives all sky3ds functionality and then much more, i expect the 80$ price tag.
If you have use for a sky3ds type cart, it's worth the price if you don't have one i think.
