I think it depends on the game and the conditions.
For example, people who hack FTW / to ruins others games on MK are cunts. It's a literal fact.
Then when it comes to something like ACNL there can be 2 types of people. This is where conditions come in.
The first person is the person who hacks online to spawn in items to help others.
The second person uses hacks to ruins other's experiences, by trapping them, giving people game breaking items, and most importantly, people who ruin others towns via seeding.
As you can see, there is a clear difference between the two. This shows that not every hacker is bad. It really just depends on what the game is, how the hacks used effect other players and most importantly, the hacker themself.

I can definitely see the premise of that. It's basically the controversy with genning vs. breeding. There's some people that are for genning, which their standpoint is, "Why walk when you can run?". Breeders, however, like to put in extra effort, but there's so much controversy between the 2 it's ridiculous. Genners talking to breeders are just saying they're wasting their time, & I can agree with that, because why bother spending days, weeks, even months; no less, to just get something that could've taken you 5 minutes to do? Now, breeders to genners, on the other hand, are just like, "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL FOR USING THAT POWERSAVE", & that's why the Pokemon Community is still falling apart to this day. It's like, people just have to be a shitbag for no god damn reason. They could just say, "No thanks. I prefer this method, & here's why I prefer it," instead of saying, "YEWR AN AYUSSHOE". Long story short; it's all up to personal preference, as long as it doesn't damage the experiences of other players.

I'd also like to point some stuff out when Switch Homebrew & CFW becomes a thing:

  • If you're going to make something that ruins the experience for another player, either don't make it or keep it private. As in private, I mean not uploading it to YouTube in the public eye of others, & kept in a super secret place where no one can access it. It's best that you keep it to yourself than to release it, because we honestly shouldn't get caught in an infinite loop again.
  • If the latter happens, cease everything. Don't take action to try & help those who are stuck in a permaban, because they let that happen among themselves. We live in a world where idiocy is infinite; doing that will do us a small favor & weed out those who decide to ruin other people's fun.
  • Don't be a dick. Period. If you want to ruin the fun for others, just don't do it at all. When you Online Hack to be a dick, actually think of those who aren't being a dick to you. They didn't do anything to you at all. Spare their lives.

You can choose whether or not you wanna listen to what I say, & that's fine. I'm not forcing anyone to follow strict guidelines that just some nobody on this forum gave to you. It's all up to you whether or not you want to listen.

It's the people who hack online that give hackers such a horrid rep

I'm perfectly fine with the people who edit their save data before playing competitively online so long as they don't step out of legal boundaries.

The moment you step out of those boundaries is the moment I lose respect for you xd

lol I got -60 points on reddit because I said that bans probably weren't happening anymore since I hack online all the time and don't get banned

I mean, there's reason why you lost 60 points. That's just being entitled.

That being said, I edit my save all the time. I don't intend to step out of legal boundaries at all when I do so. Occasionally, I'll go ahead & spawn in an item or 2 in New Leaf or just make a crazy Pokemon in PKHeX, but I don't intend to damage the experiences of other players.

Cheating online is not a problem;
Cheating online in public matches is.

Of course, if game devs released publicly server software, put a custom server option in their games, and aggressively policed the official server, probably everyone would be happier

I never even go online, playing with real people is the worst.

I love how your avatar matches perfectly with your statement.

Real talk, with singleplayer and offline I'm cool with. As long as you're the only one who's being affected/benefiting it should be completely cool.

Of course if you cheat online in public lobbies and ruin other people's experience? Yeah you're a pretty terrible individual for it.
But if you're doing a lobby where everyone messes around with hacks and knows what they're getting into before hand and for the laughs? That's not bad

Eh I could personally go either way. The only way to be unbanned I think is to have another 3ds or use a public seed so your basically buying a ticket to have permission to hack, for the most part I don't really care if people cheat I just leave the lobby. Now if they were on all servers sure its unfair but that would just give me more of an excuse to cheat online to properly "race" with everyone else :P

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
