'Assassin's Creed' To Be Adapted Into An Anime Series

Capture.JPG

It's Adi Shankar, the guy behind the Castlevania animated series who'll helm the project. Just like with his previous video game-to-series adaptation, Adi Shankar broke the news on his Facebook page:

Not much else is known about the project at this point but it seems like Ubisoft decidedly wants steer away from the disaster that was the big screen adaptation of the series and is now considering a new approach. Do you think an anime formula will work?

Even with passionate folk like Mr. Shankar, we're still yet to see even one decent film/TV/anime adaptation of a video game. It's because video games are fundamentally different from films by virtue of being fully interactive. That said.... I will check this out when it's out. Maybe this one can break the curse.

When it comes out everyone, just have low expectations and it will apear better than it actually is. After the AC movie, I know my expectations for this will be very low.

Why ruin such graet series of games??
Ehh, I'd say they only really nailed it on a couple of the games and the rest were so-so or just plain bad. So a bad movie and a bad anime adaption are probably par for the course given how Ubisoft has dragged the whole AC franchise on too long. The best looking game I've seen from Ubisoft in years is Mario x Rabbids. They fucked up For Honor terribly, and they still have it overpriced even after the reviews took to the dirt.

This'll be fun to watch. :)

The only nitpick I'll have with this is that it'll be in Japanese primarily but yeah, in time they will dub it to other languages. It feels kind of odd to watch something originally in English then become Japanese content.

Can someone explain why people here are so grumpy with this upcoming anime version of AC?

....as if the live-action movie wasn't a lesson; would rather see:

There actually was a PaRappa anime. I don't remember how good or bad it was though, it's been a while since I've watched it and I only got to watch a tiny amount of episodes.
