The map design made up for it and I enjoyed playing through it even with all it's faults.
I agree. Fire Emblem and it's format will always be a pro to the game. Fates just became a meme (takumitakumitakumitakumi)
Look at the character comparisons between the different localization, Effie was hit the hardest.
Also, if you have the chance, fates created a new type of video on YouTube. Just search up takumi comedy and watch a few.

They changed the sexuality of one of the child units in the localization. Most of soleil's S supports were changed from "I love you" to "you're my best friend" in the localization due to a controversy.

There a list / video talking about all the changes? I'm kinda curious, I knew there was a few way before going into Fates but since the Fan Translation was still missing quite a bit when the Western release hit I just opted for that.
One of these days I plan to replay the 3DS FE games after Echoes is out next month and I finish it, will go back to Awakening and with any luck after that the Fates Fan Translation will have finished up and I can replay the game using that version.

I doubt I'll get to Awakening too soon after Echoes and even then will take me awhile to playthrough again, I don't often replay games so will be a slow crawl...
could someone get me a save thats at the beginning one of the free roam dungeons where no story really happens, I want to try the combat and dungeons out without seeing the story
also, I'm a bit doubtful it'll happen and I sound a bit childish/impatient but I hope the english version leaks at some point

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.

Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
