Hi,

This software looks really useful and great but I still hesitate to use it: is it really legal to use Nintendo Servers to such purposes (even if you already own the game you want to download/it's a free content) since we use these without using a Nintendo device?

That kinda worries me...
Yes, it is

NOT LEGAL ADVICE: Don't do things if you're not comfortable with doing them. Know your country's laws. If you own a Nintendo device, or have a NNID, reread any agreements you made with Nintendo. If you choose to use the software, only download titles that you own. That way, if Nintendo comes knocking, you can show them that you only used the software to reduce the delay in obtaining your purchased titles. In that case, it is likely that they'll move on to someone else.

All that said, we have not heard that Nintendo has gone after anyone for obtaining their encrypted files using open protocols, even though it's very clear that the requests are not coming from a Nintendo device.

I see, thanks. IMO, Nintendo doesn't care anymore about Wii U so they shouldn't check anything. But I'm still reticent to use this software (and it's too bad because it looks really amazing...)

Where would one find the files for titles downloaded on their PC. Forgot to check of the copy to SD when finished so I'd rather move the files manually than go to each game and move them one by one on their screen in the app.

The folder is specified as path in user.config buried in a subfolder of appdata\local\apps\2.0\data. If you copy the data yourself, make sure you rename the folders to remove any special characters.

It would probably be easier to multi-select (ctrl-click) each downloaded game, then right-click and hit Copy to SD to add them all at once.

When you import a game from a different source, does it check if the files are good ?
Or is there an option to verify hashes of files downloaded using another tool ? your program is nice as it's not extracting files to hdd while checking, preventing write speed and hdd space consumption.

someone asked if there's a tool doing it (preferably command line, or linux), a small tool, not part of a heavy GUI downloading program. I don't think any exists yet.

No, it doesn't. I already tried to import one of my backups to check this but it didn't check the integrity of files.

The check is not done automatically. However, if the download appears to be incomplete the app will let you finish it and will download only the missing parts.
If you wish to check all the files then you just have to select it and hit "Verify". It will then be added to the queue and all the files will be checked and repaired if necessary.

I hit Verify then the button disappeared (became unclickable)...

Yep that's normal. It means the game was added to the queue (since you can add several games). You have to initiate the download so the app can connect, check the files and repair them if necessary.

i didn't use the program for a while so there are some things changed and now i cannot use the options "send to wiiu" and 'explore files on wii u"
i have a mac and i use virtual box with a copy of windows 10. the program never found the usb helper like on a normal windows system, but when it didnt found it, it used to ask for the correct ip , and when i filled that in the two options worked pretyy good. is it possible to put the option tot tell the program wich ip to use back in ?

Now the program listens for a UDP broadcast on port 14521, so you have to allow that on your firewall, and you have to be sure you're running an up to date version of the transfer app on your WiiU.

Can Nintendo detect if we use a computer instead of a Wii U?
When downloading games with Wii U USB Helper? Absolutely. Your file requests scream "I'M NOT A WII U. I'M NOT EVEN TRYING TO PRETEND TO BE A WII U." Does Nintendo care? It would seem not, since they could block it easily. They might not even be collecting that info, but they could.
