I updated my Emunand because I haven't played it for months; now, Reinand won't load after the animation...the screen stays black. Luckily, my Sysnand is still in 9.2, so I know that my N3DS isn't bricked. What do I do from here?

Just download this version and it should work
Notice: There is an issue with the new reboot patch on o3ds. Extended memory games are broken at the moment unless you use my quick fix here.
Edit: no it doesn't. fun.

I am not a Luma fan boy. The reason I said to upgrade to Luma was because reinand basically became aureinand which then became Luma and it was for that reason alone I suggested that he should upgrade to Luma. Also thats the same reason I use Luma, because I was a REINAND fanboy

Also OP you could just install a9lh. It's not that hard anymore. I actually find it easier to install that compared to emunand now.

You are wrong, updated ReiNAND and updated Luma3DS are very different CFWs and most part of the code are very different from each other nowadays.
Some projects continues to progress even if it's forked, and the fork gets on other path different of the original source.
So... following the correct logic behind forking projects, Luma isn't a upgrade of ReiNAND, but just a fork the followed a different path then ReiNAND.

Expect you are completely wrong. Luma3DS came from ReiNAND and they are completely different at this point. It's basically like comparing Debian to Ubuntu. Yes, Ubuntu started from Debian, but you can't even compare them anymore.
Your suggestion is completely based on bias towards Luma3DS. If you wanted to suggest anything close to ReiNAND, you should suggest SaltFW, but instead you are suggesting something completely different with philosophies.
Or you could have suggested the latest build of ReiNAND if they wanted to keep with ReiNAND.
There is literally no reason to suggest Luma3DS over ReiNAND, when ReiNAND is still a supported project.

I'm learning the technical terms used in 3DS's CFW. Can anyone tell me what "ROP" stands for and what it is?
Return Oriented Programming. Very boiled down its a method to get code execution in the ram of a device where code execution shouldn't be allowed. It does this by taking over a process before the return point. Essentially gaining its execution rights. Its a bypass of DEP. Which is irrelevant to cfw as we are just patching a firmware and using an exploit to load a patched firm. Unless you are talking about the entrypoint exploit.

Excuse me, CrimsonMaple, how long could the normal version of ReiNand CFW be completely finished?:P
While it does not have the same capacity as the pair of Luma3DS and A9LH, ReiNand is already stable. It only have had its tweaked recently because of the recent firmware update, 11.3.

As long as Nintendo keeps releasing updates for the 3DS, CFWs like ReiNand and Luma3DS will never stop improving.

lolwut? I hope you realize i had a9lh installed before it was public. That's why reinand was the first public cfw to bypass 9.5+ encryption. And cakes and RN were the first to support the public a9lh implementation. Also a9lh is a payload that runs arm9 code early and has literally nothing to do with sysnand/emunand.

He means A9LH installation is way easier than an EmuNAND installation (IHO)
