Homebrew Details on System Transfer on O3ds to N3ds?

I'm looking for solid concrete answers to this question.

I am running Luma 3ds 11.3 on BOTH O3ds and N3ds.

Just bought the N3ds and wanted to see if it was possible to safely and fully do a system transfer while BOTH 3ds' are on Luma 3ds and will either one lose hacks?
Also, are there any steps i need to take in order to have this go as smoothly as possible.

If they're both on a9lh youre safe to do a system transfer, even if it was from a virgin to hacked 3ds.

Just format from settings, it'll work.

just format system memory then just sign into my nnid to the N3ds??

I have already backed up some of my saves so wondering if that's what I need to do?
