I tried searching for my problem, but i havent seen it posted before, I installed easyrpg on my vita a couple times, i even tried installing the nightly, but I cant get the program to find my games that are in the ux0/data/easyrpg-player folder.. I tried a couple of games like VH and ib, but the program just keeps telling me that they cant find any games in the designated folder.

Anyone seen this before? or know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Can someone please help me out this is driving me crazy. I've been at this all evening.

So, I've got the Easyrpg vpk installed, as well as about 10 games. Every single game starts up just fine, and for a little while I couldn't start a game without the "Saved Core File Succeeded" issue i've seen a number of people get. I then replaced my Easyrpg nightly vpk(61) with the one listed on vpkmirror. This SOLVED my core issue, that force-crashed my game at the touch of the X-button. Now I can fully start up the games and get to gameplay. But after enough things are on the screen, or i even start WALKING, the game chops up, and "SE: No Free Channels Available" shows up at the top of EasyRPG in yellow text, about 50 times. Stacking all the way to the middle of my Vita screen. I can't find RTP files that i can do anything with, nor do I even know what an RTP file should look like (I've only found .exe's so far and I'm on Mac).

I can see this thread has been sort of cast aside. Someone who got this Easyrpg player to actually play the games, PLEASE, PLEASE help me out. What files am I missing? How do I install the 2000/2003 RTP, where do I get them? What do they look like? Do I create a folder INSIDE my data/easyrpg-player folder and name it rtp? Then what? Shove all RTP-related files into that folder? I have about 6 emulators on my Vita through Retroarch, and have gained some basic knowledge of the homebrew world through Henkaku, but this is infuriating and I'm almost ripping my hair out because I have access to loads of amazing looking games and can't play more than 10 seconds of each one without a slew of problems.

I really hope someone reads this..

Hey. The audio problem should be fixed in this build: http://easyrpg.org/downloads/tmp/EasyRPG.vpk
We found no time yet to add it to the official code base. :/

The RTP (RunTime Package) is a collection of graphics and sounds that are shared between games (if you get file not found warnings you will need it). You will probably play English games so the translated versions of the RTP are suitable:
http://crankeye.com/?page=downloads
Contains RTP 2000 (and I think the RPG Maker 2003 download includes the 2k3 RTP, not 100% sure).

They belong in sd:/easyrpg-player/rtp/2000 (and 2003). The folders are structured like a game, they have the folders CharSet, ChipSet, Title and so on. Happy gaming.

And you will need Windows to install the RTP, because it's exe files.

So if I have no PC, and my Mac can't run something like parallels or wine, it's a very old iMac that I'm lucky can FTP my files without issues. Is there ANY way with just a vita and a twitchy Mac to get the RTP files to work? Or can someone create a packaging of files for me? I'm unclear on this still, and I have 12 games I'm itching to try but can only play 3 minutes of each without major issues occurring.

Read my upper post. I have EasyRPG installed on my Vita via TaiHenkaku. I've installed 12 or so games by an FTP transfer through Molecule. I load up a game, it warns me I don't have the RTP files. I start a new game on the main menu of any of the games I have on here, and after a minute or two, every button press causes the error indirectly quoted above. It shows the error over and over until it's halfway down my Vita's screen. I have no PC, and the RTP files for some reason require that I am able to execute the .exe file, which on a Mac, I cannot.

Can someone, anyone, answer my question about this, or maybe make a video tutorial of exactly how to get EasyRPG to actually function. It seems like I'm the only one with this much difficulty. Consider all I've done to be the installation of the vpk. itself, and the game files themselves. NOTHING else has been done.

I guess no one has a solution for my issue, and there's no way to play EasyRPG on TaiHen without Windows.

Thanks anyway.

Sorry, not often on gbatemp.
"No Free Channels available" is unrelated to the RTP. RTP problems are only noticable when images are reported as missing. Yume Nikki, IB and many others don't need RTP at all.

Did you try this build: http://easyrpg.org/downloads/tmp/EasyRPG.vpk
It doesn't fix the free channel warnings, either?

And I was wrong about the path, it is "ux0:/data/easyrpg-player/rtp/"

You can silence the warnings by creating the empty folders /data/easyrpg-player/rtp/2000 and /data/easyrpg-player/rtp/2003 btw.

I've just tried this with Awakening game and it does not work?

Any ideas of what does work on this?

Not sure, I haven't had a build of the standalone EasyRPG vpk to successfully launch a game on my PSTV past the "start game" option on the title screen in months. Weirdly enough there is a standalone Yume Nikki VPK that someone posted on reddit which runs perfectly fine, but I just can't get any of the games I try to pack with this tutorial (https://rinnegatamante.it/board/showthread.php?tid=124) to run either. Maybe it's some TaiHENkaku issue, but I can't tell.

I've tried the rtp stuff and that does not work

I've recently found this porting and wanted to give it a try.
It works quite well with the only game I own that uses EasyRPG, Ara Fell, but I've noticed an important issue: the items count seems not to be affected when using items. I can give apples infinitely to the characters, I still have 4 apples in my bag.
I did test again on PC to be sure it was not a game's bug, and indeed on PC it works fine. Unfortunately the only way it is fixable is to use items on the PC, then transfer the savefiles on PSVita again, which is not ideal at all.

Also the vpk asks for exended permissions, I'm not sure it's needed, shouldn't it work without them?

I've seen an unofficial release on this page, will give that a try ;).

Thanks to Rinnegatamente for this great port!

Edit: nope, the release on this page does not solve the issue :(

The extended permission stuff is strange, shouldnt happen.

Please go to https://easyrpg.org/player/downloads/ and download a continious build (at the bottom half of the page).
Please test (must not be the VPK, can be also the Windows version, doesnt matter) if you still have that item usage issue with the latest version. I recently fixed a bug which resulted in infinite item usage when a savegame that was created by RPG_RT (official engine) was loaded in EasyRPG.
If it still doesnt work: Please upload the savegame (I have Ara Fell, too) somewhere. The filename is "SaveXX.lsd". XX = a number. Then I can check.

When it works I will update the custom build (with the working audio) because the good audio code is still not in the official release (hopefully soon, we work on it :))

I'm not monitoring this forum very often thats why I'm answering so late. For faster support write a mail to [email protected], replace X with easyrpg).

Oh and please take a photo of your PSVita with Ara Fell running, will forward it to the developer <3
