This is assuming you have already extracted your game.

Download the latest compiled version of PK3DS attached.
Download OhanaRebirthGotTextures attached.

1. Open PK3DS and choose tools>Misc Tools> Un(pack)+BCLIM
2. Drag the garc from a/0/9/4 in the first field while holding ctrl.
3. When it's done, you'll have 0000.bin - 10422.bin
4. Drag the texture .bin file to OhanaGotTextures, it will load.
5. In the textures tab on the left select export (choose location)
6. Edit the textures with your favorite paint program
7. Now open PK3DS
8. Go to Tools> de(Compress)LZ11 and select the .bin file
9. It will be decompressed and renamed (i.e "dec_01829.bin)
10. In Ohana choose Tools>BCHTextureReplacer
11. Go to File>Open and choose the decompressed .bin
12. Choose replace (replace all) to import your new textures in .png format
13. Go to File>Save
14. Go back to PK3DS and open Tools>de(Compress)LZ11
15. Select your .bin to compress it. (if you get a .lz just rename it to .bin) Replace the old one.
16. Go back to Tools>Un(pack)+BCLIM and drag you 4_g folder to the second field
17. Let it rebuild the garc (It can take a while!)

You can also use the old GarcTool to unpack/repack your .bin files. I've attached that as well.

Now you're ready to use your edits in game.

If you appreciate this tutorial, I appreciate a coffee :D

UPDATE: All these tools are still in use AFAIK, there have not been any extreme updates to any of them. If someone knows otherwise, please point me to these new releases so I can update the attachments. Thanks! :D

UPDATE: PK3DS updated to latest versions (Linux/Windows) as of 16/7/2017

um just one quick question
Any of the pokemon textures in a/0/9/4. Actually, I'm sure it will load any of the compressed bin files if you open them from the appropriate tab. The structure is usually 9 files for each pokemon. 1 model, 2 textures, 6 animations. You only need to decompress/recompress them if you want to edit them.

I'm sure it works with other compressed textures as well, like trainer textures and stuff.

I cant justify $1k+ on a nice ass phone. I can spend that on a 75" tv screen. Why a 6" screen device cost me the same? lol

Nah a phones going to always be more powerful than a TV if the TVs $2grand maybe but why when I can put a smaller device in my pocket that does basically everything a TV already does

I can justify a decent $800 smartphone that'll last 3 years when I could get a 65" TV for $400 and buy a decent micro computer for $100 more
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Tbf there are decent $400 smartphones in today's market that make top end spec phones unjust it's just what you want
