Nintendo has finally decided to show off their new "home gaming system", code-name NX. It's time to see what Nintendo has up their sleeves and put all the rumors to rest.

It's called the Nintendo Switch. Rumors are true, it's a tablet with connectable buttons that you can play at home and on the go. Console Controller looks similar to the Xbox One's. Has small little remotes and supports multiplayer. NBA game being shown. 3D Mario title. When you connect the portable controllers the system goes from console to portable. Skyrim and Splatoon shown. At home, Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects the system to the TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. Gaming springs into action by removing detachable Joy-Con controllers from either side of Nintendo Switch. There's more money if they can re-sell the old games on the virtual console and/or remaster them...

One other thing I noticed is that the portable version of the console (the tablet with the controllers attached) seems somewhat big (about slightly smaller than the wiiu gamepad); if that's the case, it would be a hassle to carry around.

Good graphics aren't defined just by the resolution. You can have 1080p and bad graphics. In the long run the NX won't really compete with Xbox One and PS4, but rather with Xbox Scorpio and PS4Pro/PS5.

A specific given game will look the same in 1080p whether it's on a PS4, XB1, or Switch. New revisions of the PS4 and XB1 are able to do 4K (barely), but there is still a very large segment of people that don't own 4K-capable displays. Likely a majority. If they're playing their fancy Scorpio or PS4 Pro on a 1080p screen, all you're going to get out of that is a better frame rate than previous revisions. Games aren't likely to look any better, save motion being smoother.

That's a distinct possibility given that rumors suggested the NX would be able to interface with a PC in some way.
