I've recently set up A9LH on my N3DS following Plailect's guide, and really happy with the results.

Now that I have A9LH, Luma cfw on sysNand, and a backup of all the appropriate Nand files, am I correct in thinking that under normal usage there's not really anything I can do to mess up my 3DS?

Is there anything I should watch out for with, for example, games that include firmware updates? I guess if I do end up updating my firmware accidentally, I should be able to use A9LH still to restore my cfw?

Games dont have firmware updates, if they did nintendo would be breaking serious laws. A9LH uses Firm patches(?) to stay on the system after updates, just refrain from using godmode9 and/or turning off the DS during dumping, saving, loading, executing, etc.

Games do have firmware updates ==> i.e. cart updates; they are included when games need updated fw; probably all carts have them if the game doesn't run 1.0 so that people without wifi access can use them.

Complete noob here!
I have a 2DS that is currently running firmware 11.0.0-33u
I want to emulate nes, snes, gb, gbc, gba games in it.
I have read a bit and my understanding is that I can be best served by getting a dstwo plus for the snes, and gba. What should I look for to emulate the others?
I hope I'm in the right area for this.

yes, but you should already be on the latest version making them irrelevent, not all carts have them, mainly ones with internet useage, all release titles and some following dont, (oot3d, mario 3d land). also the updates cant be installed unless you give the system permission to do so, so i dont see how that would be something to watch out for anyway

Is there a way to have custom brightness of each screen individually? (Top screen = max, bottom screen = low) to save battery?

Thanks.
I only see snes, gba, ds and 3ds advertised for dstwo. But if it does the others as well that makes my choice even better.
Well yeah, they don't really prioritize the other since the snes and gba take advantage of the Extra processing power of the cart that other flashcarts don't use. That is why. Is still a good flash cart even if you don't use it for emulation. :)

But you can allready use homebrew emulators on 3ds for free. Using a web browser based exploit to load homebrew.
There some emulators that work well since is not limited to DS capaibility with the flash cart but the 3ds hard ware itself that may be better worth your time. :)

I doubt that, unless you can somehow manipulate the System settings to do such things, i wouldn't know how but require super root access to the system which i also wouldn't know what to do.
