Understood... my 2DS was a present. It's possible to proceed with the guide normally then?
Yeah, just make sure it matches one of the sizes listed in the guide, I was a bit confused too but it worked fine.

Right, thanks! :D

Already did it (@Plailect answered this question on the Reddit sub), now I'm already beginning Part 5 from the guide. Everything running OK so far, hope it stays this way :)

Im going to start the process again from a 10.6U 2DS, but all I have is OoThax... I hope it will be enough to get started.

Hi,
japanese n3DS here, at the End of Part 4 "Getting the OTP"
-> SysNAND is on 2.1.0-4J -> booting without SD ok, with booted Home-Menu -> reinsert SD-Card
-> but http://dukesrg.github.io/2xrsa.html?arm11.bin gives a >404 File not found<.
I think, the reason is, the SD-Card is invisible through the n3DS?
SD-Card is ok, also a second shows the same problem. arm11.bin is in SD root.
How can I solve this?

Has anyone actually had a successful downgrade with supermysterychunkhax on a N3DS on 10.7? I must have tried 100 times and it is literally having none of it, all i get is Hax Init (with plailect, and black screen with other 10.7 sysupdater) and thats it every single time!

I followed this guide, and all went well until part 5. After installing arm9loaderhax, my New 3DS XL will now only boot to a "Press SELECT to update A9LH" screen (holding select on booting does nothing). If I remove the micro SD card, the system immediately turns off when I power it on (the blue light turns on briefly and then goes off, nothing appears on the screen).

I went through troubleshooting. My Luma firmware.bin is the correct one. Holding start while booting does nothing. And I tried the test payload and it worked as expected, so my device isn't bricked.

What went wrong and how do I fix it?

Thanks.

Take the arm9loaderhax.bin file from luma and put it on the root of ur sd card. Over write the one that's there.

In the meantime the japanese n3DS was transfered with the help of Region Changing Guide in a european n3DS. It works like a charme.
Kudos and many thanks to Plailect and all the involved developers!

Plailect's Guide part 3 step 4

Copy TinyFormat folder from TinyFormat.zip to /3ds/ folder on your SD card

There is no such folder inside.......does he mean the folder TinyFormat_v1.0.0/3ds/TinyFormat to be copied to /3ds/ of sdcard ?

I did this but when i select "Complete Rednand" i get the prompt, but cant press A to continue... The progress percentage will be stuck in 0%

I can click B to cancel though. Any idea whats wrong?
Thank you.

Edit: Its working now

I have a New USA 10.4 with shufflehax and browserhax already installed, with copies of Cubic Ninja and Gateway as backup. How can I backup SysNAND before starting the downgrade? I just want an image for safety.

Great guide, very detailed and thorough.

EDIT: Okay, I'm running into something weird on the final step of part 3. I get an error every time I try to update through System Settings in RedNAND. The update process window appears and then promptly disappears again.

I suppose I could maybe ignore this step (not sure if it is necessary) and just stick 9.2 on my RedNAND for now, or is it essential for the OTP part?

Could I do it with sysupdater? How risky is that, seeing as I don't have a hardmod of any kind?

Trying to update it so you can downgrade it to 2.1? Do you have patched twl/agb on the sysnand you used to make the rednand? If not just downgrade it, if yes get the unpatched twl/agb and reinstall them.
