It probably isn't your fault, as I'm pretty sure SafeSysUpdater only checks if you have the right update pack from that site.

SafeSysupdater was designed for noobs like you, as it has more safety checks than normal Sysupdater (which has none at all).

So if you think you've got the right update pack, you can try your luck.

Okay, I've also found another source and I'll try it. Also, ever since I've joined I keep here about "that site" but I still have no idea what site it actually is. I know WHY nobody calls it by it's name but I still feel rather out of the loop.

When I'm pressing Y to downgrade, the screen turns black and there and a few red pixels on the bottom left corner of the screen. Every time I reboot and try again I get the same result.

What do you exactly want to do?
You could downgrade and make a backup of your sysnand, if that is what you are referring to.

You can downgrade and get CFW for those "backups."

I think you can use a Sky Blue button too for those backups.

Was curious what my options were as to playing pirated stuff, region free translations, etc. It came out of the box at 9.9 though, can it still be downgraded?

Sure, you only need a way to run homebrew (I think 9.9 or less didn't have the browser nag problem, so you could run browserhax to install menuhax).
When you had installed menuhax, you're ready to run safesysupdater or sysupdater.

You probably have Tubehax dns on.

I am currently on 4.5u and my gateway version says Omega 2.6 whatever that means. What I wanted to know is that if there is anyway to play the games on my gateway on line (Doesn't it have to do with emunand, I don't remember). Also, is their specific games that I have to update my gateway for in order to play? Lastly what is this whole cia thing? Thanks.

I can do it (i've rxtools etc) but i've seen people not being okay with a not clean sysNand... I'd like to play GBA Games but i don't want to have bad things with my sysNand.

You can play online with an updated emuNAND. CIAs are a format that the 3ds uses. They're like the 3DS' .exe version, they are installation files basically.

You can't play GBA games on emuNAND without having it installed on sysNAND also. So, no, you have to install it on sysNAND too.

It's not bad , but people would rather have a clean sysnand and mess with everything else on Emunand

You can use your gba games on emunand if the nands are linked , if they aren't , you must install them on both , Emunand and Sysnand for them to work on emunand

The 3DS reboots into the GBA firmware when GBA VC is started and that is why GBA VC needs to be installed to both SysNAND and EmuNAND. It isn't really bad, people just just prefer to mess around with their emuNAND than their sysNAND

Yep, both are linked, but if it's only about the mess on the sysNAND it's not really a problem for me :3
I thought it was something more important that esthetical things.

have you moved the files from your regions 3077 folder to sd root?

the steps are:
dumping emunand to emunand.bin
backing up the nindendo 3ds folder (the one with your sysnand and emunand folders) from root to pc.
enter emunand, system settings, check youre really in emunand, then format your emunand from system settings.
wwhen its done, reboot and enter emunand, go through the initial setup, set up internet connection and then go to system settings and NNID settings. log in with name, email and password.

careful, there's a chance that somewhere along the way, while the system sets up nnid stuff, you'll get bumped back into sysnand. if that happens, after you try to login, it will inform you that your system needs an update. in that case, just slowly back out of the menu, reboot and try again

when thats done, get back into emunand9, copy emunand.bin back to emunand, unmount your sd and restore the nintendo 3ds folder.
afterwards, everything should work.

dont worry if entering eshop gives an error the first time, that seems to happen, just start it again

Dump emunand to file with emunand9, backup your sd content just inserting your sd on your pc and copy/paste.
System format your emunand from system settings, format, etc... just like normal (sorry, my 3ds is eur so I don't know the exact names in english).
Then, boot your empty emunand, go system settings and on NNID setting, relink your old NNID.
After that, you can reinject your emunand backup with emunand9 and paste back your SD backup

Got it running sorta, had to upgrade to RxTools 3 but now when booting into RxTools it gives an error message that I have to hold the powerbutton and restart it.
