Just gave me a black screen this time.
Starting to get scared now.
The guide says something about ninjahax not working if the last digit of your firmware if 0. Mine is 9.2.0-20E
Not sure if the 0 after 9.2 is supposed to be the last one?

Well looks like you got farther than I did lol, I cant get it to install. Just a black screen. Looks like I have to iron out some of my own wrinkles. Like I said, if its not obvious I am a noob too.

Sorry, I have never used ninjax version 1x, it doesnt work with browser version 0 either. I apologize. So, I dont know where you read about the firmware version ending in 0 doesnt work for ninjax, all I see that is similar to that is in reference to browserhax which doesnt work on N3DS, and your browser version would be 20E regardless. I would recommend following the directions to use CTR_Boot manager if you are still interested in trying as it has a higher boot success rate. Like booting through Homebrew launcher fails on mine probably 2 times out of 5 or so....

Okay well I am just sitting down to read the guide myself. I have found that generally if you follow a guide to the letter their isn't much to worry about. If there is something that you should even mildly worry about theyre usually pretty explicit about that. I am just a noob with this stuff myself, so I dont want to just guess and wind up telling you something stupid, I believe that the last digit is probably referring to the browser version? That would mean yours is 20E.

Wait? are there things i should do before i install RXTools and such? and if so what.
You have to have homebrew launcher installed or some way to launch RXtools. But before any messing around you should make a backup of your Nand just in case. That's usually the first thing you wanna do if your going to mess around with your device and there's a method available to dump it. Do you have Zelda OOT or Cubic Ninja installed?

Cubic ninja.
EDIT: Could this be why RXTools didnt work? because i didnt have emunand? I pretty much set nothing up prior to installing RXTools.

If the X in 9.2.0-X is 0 then you have no browser installed and ninjhax won't work. Your's is 20 so you're good.

Hey so when you have no browser what shows up in the place on your home menu where the browser symbol is? Is it still there? If it is there, What happens if you try to launch it? Sorry, I didn't even consider that the 0 would mean you don't have a browser. Both of mine came with a browser out of the box as far as I know...?

So does the latest RxTools nightlies work on the N3DS? I have tried 11-19, 11-22, and 11-24 but get black screen after the RxTools guy. I can get into RxTools Menu but won't go into the EmuNand. I'm able to go back to my 10-2 RxTool backup with no issues.

So just giving an update on what happened to me.

Initially I had issues updating to the latest emunand when setting everything up with a gateway (Set up emunand and update it).
I tried to do the whole process as if I didn't have a gateway, and now everything is working fine. I'm on the latest emunand firmware with Rxtools..

That's the one I have been using. It's works with the 10-2 build that I have been using. That's the one from his pastebin, correct?

Update: Guess seeing your post did the job... I just got it to boot with no issues. Been scratching my head for a week now, trying to get this to boot. Thanks for replying, that's all I needed!

Sorry, for me, it's the firmware9.5.bin of Cake CFW renamed to 0004013820000002.bin and put it to "firm" folder

If you want to use rxTools, you need :
- rxTools nightly : http://jheberg.net/captcha/rxtools-2015-11-19-265d53e/

1. Create a firm folder inside the rxTools folder, copy the firmware9.5.bin in it
2. Rename the firmware 9.5.bin 0004013820000002.bin. Then copy the rxTools folder on your micro-sd card root
3. Copy the rxTools folder from the ninjhax folder in your "3ds" folder.
4. Then start rxTools from the HBL. Press a key at the end of the data installation to boot into your emunand.
