oh yeah i make a fatal mistake. i don't know that i have to put the firmware.bin and code.bin in rxtools/sys/. at first i thought they supposed to be in root folder. anyway are there other files i have to put in rxtools/sys ?

Did u do this?

Install python 2.7 then run the cdn_firm.py script under the /tools/ folder to generate it

Yeah, the older versions of rxtools had the firmware.bin in the root folder, but now for the latest builds just put the firmware.bin on /rxtools/sys/ these installation guides on gbatemp and other sites are outdated. Just found rxtools.net is down right now

btw, what happened to launch.rxtools.net? this morning i managed to launch rxtools through those address, but recently it won't launch at all

and i have more questions:
1. I got notification about system update on emunand, is it okay to update it? I'm concern about the sysnand cos as far as i remember i haven't unlink it yet
2. how to install MSET in this recent nightly build? any thread that explain it step by step? or is it just the same as the one below

7.X - 9.2

• Download this version of rxTools 3.0 beta 8

1. Go HERE, click the "CIA Downloads" link. Name of the thread is "[MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (All Regions)").
2. Download the 6.X-msetdg for your region (in .bin format)
3. Inside will be a msetdg.bin, put it on your 3ds sd card root
4. grab the rxtools.dat from the beta 8 and replace the one on your 3ds sd card
5. On your sd card, delete the "rxtools" folder, and put the rxtools folder from the download onto the root of your sd card
6. If you don't have a DS flashcard: grab the code.bin for rxTools from the "mset" folder and put it on your sd card root.
   • If you do have a DS flashcard, you only need the rxCakeROP.nds or rxinstaller.nds on your DS flascard's sd card. Then you would put the flashcard in your 3ds, launch it, then run the rxCakeROP.nds or rxinstaller.nds file and install the 6.X MSET
   • Note: the "DG" beside the system version number means "downgraded". So if you are on 9.x using the 6.x mset, you would use "6.x DG". If you are on 6.x system version, you would use simply "6.x"
7. Launch rxTools through the browser and hold R to open the menu. Go to Advanced Options, then Downgrade MSET. Turn off your 3DS afterwards.
8. If you used a DS flashcard in step 6, then skip this step! In the mset folder, open the QR Code named "URL-5.X-6.X-7.X-8.X-9.X" and scan it on your 3ds. Wait for a bit (it should crash and send you back to the home menu). If it doesn't crash after a minute, press HOME and it should crash.
   • If the next step (9) doesn't work after scanning the QR code, try going to this link in your 3ds Browser: http://dukesrg.github.io/?code.bin, then try launching via the DS profile again.
   • Also try clearing your cache and history before scanning the QR code or entering the above link.

• Now you can launch rxtools by going to System Settings-> Other Settings-> Profile-> Nintendo DS Profile

3. I have backup my 9.2 sysnand. I know it's a noob question, but how to restore it if there's something bad happened with it

Updating emuNAND is safe to do and no need to unlink nands

You also need to boot rxTools from MSET as 3D doesn't work if booted from spider and ninjhax

EDIT: Also you need to boot rxTools with 3D already on

3D when booted from ninjhax can be fixed, while it can't on spider (as the browser turns off 3D)

Ah I seem yeah I only use spider, never ninjhax or mset. So I guess I won't be able to test that feature out.

Good to hear, to unlink just format emunand with system settings and update as normal, but be careful because i ruined my 3ds because of this. Make sure to be in emunand it should say rx-e next to 9.2 .To install mset downgrade mset first with a msetdg.bin file and use code.bin and visit the exploit site or use a ds flashcart and rxinstaller.nds and thirdly to restore your nand backup use gateway launcher go on downgrade while pressing up and have nand.bin on your sd card and you can restore it. You do not need a gateway to do this, just gateway launcher.dat on your sd card root

To unlink sysnand just format sysnand. Unlink is just changing the unique id of one nand so it wont be mixed up with the other if you format sysnand or emunand you get exactly the same result. Im sure it will work but i cannot test it as i do not have an exploitable 3ds or any 3ds now

It's not updated for the latest beta, but I may do it soon. For now, the process is:

actually, it works on latest beta. recently i tested it. i just downgrade the mset, reboot to sysnand, launch nintendo ds profile, and voila! the rxtools is launched n i'm able to boot into emunand without wifi and browser

I updated to the nightly yesterday, and everything works great.
I've been on 2.6 for months and thought it was time to check out the progress, and I'm impressed.
Just have a question about the new nds mset installer. I'm on 4.4 sysnand and therefor always used the old 2.6 4.x nds mset installer... the new one gives a lot more options; 4.x, 4.x DG, 4.x NDG, 6.x, and the custom.txt versions of all of them - I just went with the vanilla 4.x and it works fine, but what are all the others? I'm guessing DG = downgrade and NDG = New downgrade, but what are the custom versions?

actually, it works on latest beta. recently i tested it. i just downgrade the mset, reboot to sysnand, launch nintendo ds profile, and voila! the rxtools is launched n i'm able to boot into emunand without wifi and browser
