Sonic 06's retail game is awful, sure. But the demo? Way better than the entire game and loads of fun to play!

The game's other positive aspect is that the soundtrack is pretty good.

Btw, the Sonic 06 demo for 360 is still downloadable and will always be.

I actually played the demo years ago before I knew what Sonic 06 was, and I enjoyed it. I guess they fixed up the demo but couldn't be bothered to fix the entire game.

The demo runs on a more recent build of the engine than the final game. Problem is, it was less stable, so they had to go back to an earlier build, which the final game uses.

Sonic the hedgehog Genesis gba is still worse in my book
But it's one of the worst ports ever made for any great game out there, it's a different matter than Sonic 2006 and Sonic Boom (both 3DS and WiiU) that were bad developed original games.
Sonic 2006 had nice ideas that tried to complement the core gameplay from Sonic Adventure games, but most of them were cut (and badly cut) when SEGA decided to force the launch date. Problems with engine made the final game suffer and finally, most stages had killing bugs due to removal of gameplay elements from the final game and because actual development progress were halted to deliver the game "on date".
But Sonic Boom games had bland gameplay ideas that were badly executed, poor level designs, slow paced levels - I'm a veteran Sonic player and had to play the demo levels for like 10 minutes to end them, not even exploration focused Mario games like Mario 64 and Galaxy took that time to do one stage while not trying to get every item on them.
Essentially Sonic Boom 3DS and WiiU are the only Sonic's games that I'm skipping totally from playing in the entire franchise for now, to me they are as bad as Shadow The Hedgehog game and I think that I've got enough suffering with a Sonic related game with that one.

Skits (or what ever the hell her name is) is kind of annoying and I don't like it as much as say sonic x but its a good show between the crappy shows (ug, new spongebob and what not) and great shows (gravity falls, star, su and what not).

Sad a lot will not watch it due to the game

I loved Sonic X, especially the second season with all the mindfuck of space travels and magical plant girls. Cosmo is still one of my favorite Sonic characters.

Didn´t watch Boom yet, some people told me is silly, but funny. Well, at least its popularity is high with children.

Your right plus i feel 06 is really overrated when you consider it averages about a 5 out of 10 which is nowhere near the worst game ever and is bad or mediocre really.

I told myself I would never buy this game. I hated the art style and I thought they made a mockery of one my favorite series. I thought with Sega's apology that they might return to the roots of Sonic. so I'm here waiting to see what they are going to do.

SatAM was good and I felt like Sonic X was nice except for the anime nuts who criticized it for not being like the Japanese version (which they did to all 4kids versions really)

4Kids just plain sucks, I'm glad they filed chapter 11 bankruptcy, they over-censor and xenophobic censor anything they're afraid people will be confused about; Censors: "Oh no, a Japanese cultural reference, quick, we must change to something not Japan!" (Like calling onigiri, "jelly donuts" XD). Glad I never saw the English version of Sonic X :creep:

The reason is the times in which we live. They're still making games for the same aged crowds, but the crowd has changed drastically. The rejig in style and character development was an attempt to be more successful with the children it is primarily played with. Game companies do this from time to time when they suddenly realise their audience has changed. This was a particularly bad transition as they've never really gotten the 3d thing down. There is no 100% perfect sonic game. They always get at least one thing wrong.

They do much that nintendo does with mario games, but in the wrong direction. Mario games don't change because they've found their particular thing and stuck with it for the last 30 years or so, because they know that side scrolling plumber is always going to be played. Sega has however found that transition to 3D much harder, and tried to carve a deep plot and lore into their characters. It's never worked properly because the game's format doesn't work either.

Much the same reason Ash from pokemon is still 10 years old, the children who watched it to start with have grown up, but they're no longer it's primary audience; Pokemon is still selling to the same aged crowds - around the age of 10 or so. Sega's problem is they don't seem to do much market research, they don't find out who plays sonic games and it's a hard question because many ages like Sonic games, not one primary audience.

Speaking of which try Kirby Abridge they make all kinds of hilarious comments in the show to the 4kids practices.
Any way I do wonder what it would have been like if funamation or someone else did it

Well, they would it kept it very close to the original script, kept the original music and try not to add stupid cultural references; Funimation actually tries to keep it as close to the original as possible I noticed. Yugio Abridged actually does the same thing and make fun of how bad 4Kids is lol :P

Have you ever seen the Yu-Gi-Oh abridged series? They mock 4kids nearly every episode, which is why the channel has been deleted so many times.

I've never heard of YA but I will check it out.
But I guess sure some things need to change I guess but if things like cultural reference do nothing

We (French) were lucky to have the Sonic X localization faithful to the Japanese version. :)
I remember hearing that actually but it was localized by a different group then the English version? But I think the French were more lienent in many ways
