The one thing I wanted Nintendo to expand on in a Mario game was the 2D segments from SMG2 but nope. It basically was NSMB but with gameplay that's about a thousand times more fun. The fluidity and variety made it some of the most fun 2D platformer in some time, outside of maybe Rayman Origins.

According to Nintendo, they are prepared to be more open to outside suggestions, so I'm thinking that they realize all the love people have for the Super Mario Galaxy series and will bring it back or elements of it back in some way shape or form.
I'm with you, I wish they'd do something like this and I bet they will eventually. No sense in letting a good thing die after all.

I was hoping Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker would be some sort of DLC like Super Luigi U with a later standalone release. I'm in the middle of a 100% run of SM3DW and having the Captain Toad levels in between the hectic and playful platforming levels is good fun. I'd like more of that fun, but having to switch the disc (or load separately from the Wii U Menu) just to play Captain Toad levels doesn't seem very exciting to me. :(

I'm keeping my eye on this, but I'll hold until after reviews (as always, actually). Haven't played 3D world yet, but after watching a video about it I sure hope they'll make the camera easier to manage.

The game may be similar to those levels, but not being able to jump and a Fez-like level design puts it in a pretty different league than those 3D Mario games. It's a new IP, in any case, so I actually hope it turns out to be different than what I'm used to. :)

I could argue that captain Toad is a twat, but that doesn't mean much. If you ask me, that Link from wind waker is a twat as well. It doesn't stop me from playing if the game itself is good.

Here it costs $64.99 plus 12% tax = $73! That's way too much for me to ever buy a game. They are half price on craigslist but they are probably also stolen.
My only beef is that ear-bleeding music, I mean, couldn't they make it less...I dunno, annoying..?
It's not annoying, death metal is annoying.

The music is too flute-y and sounds like the Rugrats theme lol, it should at least have a little more variety.

I like the music but Nintendo in general could have a bit more variety. They are going to have to take risks to do that though and I don't think they will.

Don't be fooled by that video mate, that guy plays like shit! I mean, he doesn't even run most of the time :P It's like watching your parents play Super Mario Bros. when they walk all the time and fail each jump ^_^
The camera is very easy to use!

(Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but) I just love how you we can judge a game based on 20 seconds of footage on whether or not it will be worth full price

Well, if the game has a lot of content, and I hope it does, 60 does seem a little steep for a game like this, that's all.

sorry, a little off topic here, but I always wondered, what do people mean, when they say, they want to get the game a few days later for a little less money... do you man, you will buy a used game or what?
because here in germany, games usually stay the same price for MONTHS after release o.O - that is if you buy a new, unused one in a store...

Not here. Amazon US is selling MarioKart 8 for $48, and they've been doing that since the game was only like a week old. Plus don't forget about retail store sales. They may offer deals like buy one game, get one 40% off. So if you wait a bit until you want two games at once, you can use those kinds of sales.

I actually liked captain toad levels in SM3DW but an entire game of that? pls no i wont give 60 euros for that alone the footage at e3 just seemed more of the same over and over that aint worth full retail in my book, that should have been an e shop title not a full retail release imo.

I don't know about this game.

It seems like this is more fitting as DLC for 3D World, and it makes me worrisome that Nintendo are still thinking in the 3D Land/3D World mindset. It wouldn't bother me at all if I missed this, especially since it would probably be more fitting to be an eShop title.

yeah i wouldnt give more than 20/25 euros for this game if they release this even at 40 euros it just isnt worth it imo this should be a dlc package like super luigi U at best probably even less since the game is bound to be much shorter.

What worries me even more is that is one of the games that will have amibo suport ... srs ppl are gonna pay like 10 euros for an amibo for this game to unlock what some new map/character?

No, they don't buy an amibo just for this game. They use the amibos they already have.
