I have a save state at the beginning of chapter 6 and have tried a dozen times to reproduce the bug but cannot. One question? Is this save file been used with any of the other patches?

Yes, this has been the save file I've used this whole time now with the recent patches, ever since you said that it should work.

To be honest, I'm a little sad to see this, as I've put quite a bit of money and time into completing the translation when no one else would. Same goes for the Makai Kingdom patch. :-(

Linka,

Mine save state should be similar to yours since I constantly patched mine a million time and I have yet to have it crash. I guess we should move on and hopefully it will no happen again.

SuezXXVII,

Make sure you have the UMD version of the game. The PSN version may fail or have translation issues. I cannot really help much more than follow the instructions in the first page to patch your legally acquired ISO of LPR.

What the heck are YOU talking about?
Two years ago, I set about to make a translation guide for both games, I had a setback due to difficulties in finding a translator to hire, but recently I was able to gather the rest of the material I needed. Then this comes along and practically destroys the efforts I made and the money I spent. :-(

Well i'm sorry but there was already a translation guide online made by Linka he was pretty happy to know this translation patch.
Linka, ChepChep, Hatsubai all invested time and money on their project as well.
This patch is being developed for like a year... publicly.
A quick Google search would have make you aware of all this, 2 years is a lot of time...

A translation guide is an external document you read while playing a game in foreign language?
You can still write one if you spent time and money on achieving this. There are players who don't/can't hack their PSP and will probably benefit from your effort in making a guide.
I think both projects are different, one is translating the game to play in another language, while the other one is helping the player to progress with official/retail game.

Don't think because there's an english version users will not play the japanese version anymore. Look at the PS2 version, it was in english, but not everyone played it (me included) and they released a new version in japanese on another console and users wanted that version even if english was available. Your guide could be helpful later again.
There will always be people who will use/play another version of the game, another console or just don't like other guides and will prefer yours.
Write it if you like, think about the players and what you can do to help them.

If you think it's not needed anymore, then don't do it.
But you shouldn't reject the fault on someone else's project.
Your spent time is not necessarily lost yet.

I'd be willing to help the project with what I have gathered for La Pucelle Ragnarok and Makai Kingdom Portable to help finish the patches. And I'll go ahead with guide as well. :-)

How do I contact them?

posting here or in Makai thread is enough.
La pucelle translation is done, the only need now is readproof.
we are doing it in game and report issue with screenshot, There's no Quality Checker user doing it on the files (maybe someone could do it, but it will require a test ingame too, to check text length).
I currently prefer doing it while playing to prevent being spoiled with the story as I never played it.

Sorry you feel like your effort was wasted, but the main reason I've been very into this translation-- and why I made a smaller guide for myself for purpose of reference (since I do not naturally know Japanese, but I understand the game enough to make the leaps necessary to translate to what was in the original PS2 game, and a very good friend who was willing to do quick translations of menus for me), is because people like myself wanted to play the game. I thank you for having tried to make a guide before, and you can still do it! Spread the joy of these games, especially for people who might've imported the game.

Another batch of report :)

Typo : Hypontize instead of Hypnotize

Another Item (no screenshot yet)
Dimensioanl cape

Chapter 3:
At the beginning of the chapter, you talk to Culotte.
I'm pretty sure it was written like that in PS2 too, but it doesn't make sense.

"I" should be "He", and "me" should be "him".

213019-pic_0032.jpg

what do you think about that discussion?
he ask if you can trust "him" and she reply "I saved you".

Go to the forest:
Double "the" in that text.
213021-pic_0038.jpg

No screenshot this time (it's an empty box again):
Go up to the boss (big monster), then go back to town to see the infirmary and you meet Father Salade.
Exit the church and talk to Croix. At the end of that discussion there's an empty/invisible box.

Last visible sentence is:
- "It was not good that the hunters came here."
- "The hunters that did bad things deserve punishment."
- empty box
I'm playing it little by little.
I didn't report issue with spaces at the start of the line, or misaligned text in black scenes. I think it's not a big problem for comprehension.

The DLC is this: Elly, the girl who owns the Rosenqueen shop in the game, and who has also appeared in the Marl Kingdom games; Hero Prinny from the Prinny platformer games; Rozalin from Disgaea 2; and Cornet from the Marl Kingdom games.

The short of it is: This patch will not support the DLC. As stated in the original topic:

"We have no plans to translate the DLC for LPR because of two reasons:
1) The DLC content overwrites all the data that we have translated so we would have to redo all of the translation to get the DLC working in English.
2) Legal Issues: The DLC was paid content and we would have to include the DLC content in order to translate it. We want to be legal and the current patch contains no copyright material of NIS."

If you own the game, legally, you can download the DLC yourself from the Japanese PSN store (making an account is easy and you can figure out how through a quick google search)-- Elly and Hero Prinny are free, but Rozalin and Cornet are paid content. After you download them, a spot opens up on the map that lets you go and talk to the characters you have on there. Elly will join automatically without any fuss, from my memory, but Hero Prinny is at least level 100, and you have to fight him to get him. As for getting them to work on an .iso or anything? This would not be the place to ask it, that's for certain, given the concerns of legality.

But hey, otherwise, at the least, Elly's a nice extra unique character to have around for the start of the game.

Cyan,

Thanks for the bug report. I have fixed all the issues you have reported. As far as the black text, the formatting is going to be impossible to fix since its in the eboot and I have not found a way to change the file size to fix the formatting.

Again thanks for the help.
