There have been many ways to bring homebrew to the Nintendo Game Boy. Some have offered support for aspiring chiptune composers, while others have boasted ROM back-up compatibility. Until now, nothing has paired an ease of use with compatibility, and full SRAM support. The Everdrive GB supports up to 32 GB microSD cards, making it extremely user friendly and easy to set-up. The cart also features SRAM to mSD auto-backup, mappers MBC1, MBC2, MBC3, MBC5, ROMs up to 8 MB in size, game genie cheat codes, and support for both Game Boy and Game Boy color ROMs. The current price of the Flash Kit is $78.00 for just the PCB and $93.00 in a plastic shell. Unfortunately, the first run has already sold out.

I would still prefer the Drag'n'Derp over this cart as this cart uses Battery Backed SRAM rather than FRAM like the Drag'n'Derp.
of course, the Drag'n'Derp is still only one rom at a time and is limited to only 3MB max roms vs multirom and 8MB. I am not sure if backing up saves is as easy as the Drag'n'Derp as with it, you can copy the save right off the cart to the computer in raw save form. I wonder if the EverdriveGB flushes SRAM to file like the EZFlash IV does so saves can be backed up easily

Not sure, does the GBA SP support GB and GBC cartridges?
sure
just the gba micro and following devices like DS do not

Sweet.
Out of curiosity, what's the biggest GBC ROM out there?
Densha de Go 2 had 64MBit
IIRC all other games were 32 MBit, at least the official ones

And here I was about to go out and buy a gbc until I seen this thing uses a battery for saves.

If it backs up your saves to a msd card like it says, that won't be much of a problem.

Sweet.
Out of curiosity, what's the biggest GBC ROM out there?

Shantae is 4 megabytes, along with a few others. The maximum is 8 megabytes, but I'm not sure if anything is actually that big.

Drag'n'Derp is far too expensive for what it is. The amount of memory is ridiculously low, and if you're thinking of throwing build quality back at me, don't. I've been using EMS for I don't know how many years, and it never gave me any grief. Never. Not ever. It also happens to be the cheapest flash device ever made for Game Boy, with battery backed SRAM, so Drag'n'Derp can take its build quality and shove it. But hey, if you're a hip LSDJ composer, you should still get one. After all, it costs $100 plus shipping for a mere 24Mb, so it must be REALLY good. Makes your LSDJ farts, blips and bloops sound so much better, too. And thanks to the sophisticated FRAM you'll never lose your precious tunes!

Everdrive GB backs up save files to the MicroSD, much like most of the GBA and NDS flash devices, so yes, you can easily back up your files simply by taking the MicroSD out and plugging it into your computer, or whatever it is you're using to read your MicroSDs. Krikzz made one hell of a flash device, and without a doubt, it's the best one on the market.

So let me get this straight: all this and there STILL isn't RTC? Who needs 32 GB Micro SD support when all you need is 1 GB for just about every single GB and GBC ROM out there minus the regional clones?

okay then. Now I find a cheap gbc. I'm not paying 100-200 bucks for one from amazon or ebay.

You can get them for $20-25 on eBay.

They only mention certain mappers. So which games will not be supported?

IIRC the way mappers works with the GB/C is that higher mappers are mostly backwards compatible with older ones, so even a cart with only MBC5 would be able to play most of the GBC library. I'd think that with a very few exceptions, the only games that aren't supported are ones that use the RTC.

So let me get this straight: all this and there STILL isn't RTC?
Krikzz had enough of a challenge getting this cart working, going by how long it'd been between this release and his last mention of the prototype he had semi-working. Adding RTC would've been a whole separate hurdle that would also require implementing more expensive hardware, something that he didn't see as worthwhile when the vast majority of people would only use that feature for Pokemon GSC. He's said that if this cart gets sufficient interest, he'll consider making a second model, RAM based instead of flash based and with RTC support, but so far sales haven't been high enough for it to look likely.
