Hi Pepois, you do it for yourself, it's quite easy:

1. Put the folder NewBannertools in a sensible location, one that you remember
2. Put the .wad that you want transform to work on vWii (Wii on Wii U) inside the NewBannertools folder, and rename it to "in.wad"
3. Double click on WAD Unpacker.bat, it will create a new folder
4. Open the "00000001 for vWii" folder and replace the "00000001.app" into the folder recently created in step 3
5. In the same created folder in with your "00000001.app" replaced, select all the contents and copy them into NewBannertools folder
6. Double click on WAD Packer.bat, it will create a wad file named "out.wad", it's the wad you install in you vWii

I prepared a zip for you.

It's even more simpler, just open the .wad with ShowMiiWads, and change the channel ID (four letters) to another one, chances are the actual ID start with the letters E, F, J, L, M, N, P, Q and X, that's the reason why it's showing in 3:4, change the first letter to whatever letter you want, except the ones I mentioned.

Thank you once again OrginalHamster!!! I got everything worked out. Thank you for taking the time and put everything just for me. I had a lot of wads to edit to correct the 16:9 aspect ratio including Nintendo official channels etc. Also the compatibility tool worked great! with that I managed to get all my channels working except for one: the hombrewbrowser... Could you please try it yourself? Thank you!

HI folks created an account just to post on this thread and I am in some need of help with forwarders(btw thanks for all the help getting me this far!). I would consider myself medium skill level at all this stuff. I did build a stand up mame machine in a cabinet I built with like 10 consoles and a frontend and all that stuff so I have some fringe experience. The vwii world is new to me having never owned a wii (my son got wiiu for xmas).

So I did softmod with smashstack. Have HBC running. Have wiiflow working via a channel and able to play my backups. Have MMM, Bluedump, fceugx, snesgx installed and working.

Now I am trying to do some fine tuning and install some channels for fceu, snes and wii64 (once I can get past its current issues but that's another thread) I am really struggling with the directions in the original post and have been googling for days. I do have customizemii installed as well. So on to my questions.

"Hey guys, I just finished my work on a new nand loader which works in vwii mode, the project is located here.

1. The usage is quite easy, just grab the precompiled app file from the downloads section - DONE

2. extract your wad using wadmii or whatever, replace the 00000001.app with this one

I am lost here. Extract your wad from where my wiiu? Using wadmii - I cannot find this tool anywhere have followed about 4 dead links will another tool work?. replace the 00000001.app with this one - no idea what this means maybe because I cannot find wadmii?

3.repack the wad and enjoy! Oh, and this way requires having the real dol you want to load as 00000002.app, customizemii sets it up like that by default, so forwarders built with customizemii should always have those two app files.

Where do I see these .app files the only output from customizemii is a wad file so Im confused. What if anything do I need to do inside customizemii?

Currently that only seems to work on vWii, still trying to find a way to use it on both Wii and vWii"

I tried loading one of these wads into customize me editing the forwarder path to SD/apps/fceugx/boot.dol which installs but black screens when I try and load it.

If anyone can get me over these hurdles fill in the missing pieces I would be greatful. Sorry for being so dense. Im sure once I get one of these done will be smooth sailing.

Ok I am getting closer I found wadmii in a pack of tools I found. So now I see the 00000001.app but my question still remains what is "my wad".

When I repack and I using wadmii?

Do I need to customizemii whay can I not just this wad?

I have a 3TB Western Digital Elements HDD.
My USB Loaders are on the HDD, so I don't use a SD card.
The forwarder for USB Loader CFG is working.
But the forwarder for USB Loader GX is not. I get a stack dump.
When I first start HBC and then start USB Loader GX from the HDD, it works.
Why isn't the forwarder working for USB Loader GX?

Thanks Hamster I gathered that but is the OP referring to my .wad as the one I load from source wad via customizemii? Are the instructions assuming you have a channel already and not starting from scratch? Essentially the download is a .wad why cannot simply install that?

Most of these forwarders channels were created to be played on original Wii, so they don't work on vWii, you need unpack the wad, exchange the 0000001.app and pack it again, the forwarders channels in the first page are already patched to be used on vWii.

I've never used WadWii, but see my previous post http://gbatemp.net/threads/forwarders-are-back.340226/page-17#post-4894166 NewBannerTools works exactly the same, unpack/replace 0000001.app/pack/profit

Bare in mind that those forwarders channels are created by users like you and me so the compatibility is not 100% between Wii and vWii, unlike VC and WiiWare wads that don't need any patch and can be played on Wii and vWii without problems.

Never tried using a forwarder that points to my HDD, but it could be that USB Loader GX (ULGX) forwarder is not looking into HDD but a SD card, I think it depends how it was configurated/created. Do you install the one in the first page right? Also make sure use ULGX rev1218.

I'm having a weird issue with the WiiMC forwarder channels for vWii where my HDD doesn't show up in the app after it is loaded once via the channel, but shows up if I exit and load the app again via the same channel.

The odd thing is that the HDD shows up right away if I load WiiMC via the HBC or through Wiiflow. WiiMC also loads the HDD immediately when loaded via the forwarding channel on my softmodded original Wii using the same SD card and HDD. I've also tested both WiiMC forwarders, the one with the original sound and the other with the "angelic fanfare", with the same results.

I did modify the WiiMC source to be compatible with a hard drive hidden from the Wii U's format nag with jayjay123's uStealth utility, but this doesn't seem to be the issue as it is unique to the Wii U according to my tests.

My guess is that the vWii WiiMC forwarders are not correctly loading up IOS58 which would prevent USB 2.0 support. Is this a reasonable hypothesis, and does anyone know of any possible fixes?

I hopefully will try your moded WiiMC dol during this week, would help to report some results ;), also thanks for make it compatible with uStealth.

Is anyone having this issue with the WiiMC forwarder for the vWii, or is it just the wad I installed? I tested it again with an unhidden HDD with no difference. If there are those who are not having this problem, I'd be very happy to try installing the version of the forwarder channel being used by those folks.

OriginalHamster, thanks for giving it a try. Have you had a chance to give it a spin yet, and if so, how's it working? I'm using it almost daily and definitely every weekend with no issues other than the seemingly unrelated issue with the forwarder channel.

Does anybody have a forwarder channel for devolution that I can use for vWii?

I am just scanning all my old GC games now and am looking forward to messing with it on WiiU after I do the authentications with the WiiMote. Thanks for the poster as the forwarders in here have been great for my WiiU.....now if Nintendo could just give us pro controller on the gamepad then we could play all our non motion Wii and GC games without separate controllers.

I haven't seen any but I do have a question, is that the ONLY way to play GC games so far on vWii? You can't put GC Games on USB Drive/HDD. A the only way to get playable games on vWii you have to have OLD Wii to scan them on SD? Any info would be great.

Devolution does support FAT32 formatted USB drives in addition to SD Card. You do still have to rip the game to either USB or SD and then you still have to (once) do the activation on your old GC compatible Wii.

This process is not as bad as it seems. Using cleanrip it takes about 9min a disc to rip your GC originals and then then the activation only takes a few seconds on first launch. Somehow it ties the activation to your Wiimote and then when you sync the WiiMote with your WiiU and launch Devo and away you go.

The games run super on WiiU. 1080P looks wonderful and so does the gamepad. There is a force 16x9 aspect option in Devo that works pretty well. Devolution has almost 100% compatibility and the controller support includes Wii Classic and Classic pro, WiiU Pro controller, and ps3. I really like the WiiU Pro myself.

Currently there is no other way to run GC on WiiU. The MIOS USB loader method does not work and on Wii it didn't support alternate controllers or virtual memory cards (had to use a GC compatible Wii with GC Memory cards and controllers). Also the MIOS USB loader has far less compatibility so even if they get it working on WiiU its just not as good as Devolution.

I would say if you really have a lot of GC originals then try to borrow some ones older Wii and softmod it and then do the rips. I was able to fit 21 games on a 32gb SD card which wasn't my entire library but was most of the stuff I would want to play.

If the forwarder's ID starts with one of these letter E, F, J, L, M, N, P, Q and maybe X, use a Wad editor to change the TitleID, and it will launch in 16:9 (otehrwise it will run in 4:3), without the need to go to HBC [Note by Cyan].

New WiiLauncher Forwarder for vWii

Path is mandatory and is /app/wiilauncher/boot.dol (should work from both SD and from USB).

As usual graphics and music sucks ;)

THANK YOU FIX94 !
Thanks to realfolkblues for the emulator forwarders !

EDIT: it will be a good idea to put new vWii forwarders in this thread !

OK, the Stardust Wiiflow forwarder doesnt work perfectly since it has AHBPROT enabled which means you wont be able to run REAL NAND CHANNELS NOR NINTENDOT GC GAMES. PLEASE UPDATE WITH THE ONE I HAVE JUST MADE.

Best regars!
