To actually have a chance of fixing the issue, the users will have to have a nand.bin dump file saved, and you will need to flash the nand file back to the console using a hardware flashing method, there is no other way of recovering

You can check the SD card in each console to see if there is a nand dump, but if they followed the tutorials the nand backup should be stored in a safe place, with no nand backup I'm afraid it's no recovery for them

Yeah backups are always a must!

Since you have the consoles, do check and save them.

I have made a couple of copies of mine just in case. It's not that you cant claim the warrantee on them, it that they will get an updated firmware and render carts useless, which is kind of hard to find 4.x anymore in the market.

Hello all, I come here for help with one problem that I have not see before.

I am a technician at a local computer store in Turkey and today I was ask to fix from 3 customer 3DS XL with pirate cards. 2 with 3DSlink and 1 with R4i Deluxe card.

On both monitors touch and 3D have the blue screen with white letters showing
BOOTROM 8046
ERRCODE : 00F800EF
FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF
00000008 00000000

When I press any button nothing happen.
I do not know what is the version for console software but customer say that it happen when they starting to use the pirate card (so be from 4.1-4.5).

Should I send to nintendo reseller to RMA or is the high risk for detection of pirate card?
Can the problem fixed with software?

Thank you
Mehmet
same problem here
3ds fw 4.2
r4i fw 3.2 (with emu 7.1)

Did you have wireless/internet enabled while in Emu mode? When did the bricking occur?

Today I started the system normally without the cart in. Go to ds profile to start the exploit and it froze. Turned off the 3ds and when I turned it back on there was the blue screen.

I don't think wifi switch as anything to do with this issue. if the console doesn't work, it means the NAND/Bootrom is affected.

You should ask if they used EmuNAND 7.x (it seems all users had their emuNAND updated)
If they accessed some menu in the EmuNAND settings, what they changed, etc.

maybe they SET UP their emunand fairly recently, and nintendo actually changed 7.1 update in the past few days, and something isnt working out with the new launchers? I, myself, made my emunand setup on day 1 that 3.0 was released.

BTW, i have noticed 3dslink updated its blue card boot files. it says 3.2 and it says yesterdays date i think.
MAYBE the launchers arent the culprit, but something wrong in the ds profile injection of these new revisions?

For those thinking about the date having something to do with the brick, that may be the case if Gateway team placed a date triggered bug to affect clone users...Apparently this has happened before with the psp, and teams stealing others hackers work...
I don't know, but i find it a bit wierd the brick happened to a lot of users the same day

Hmm why are the bricked 3DS all XL version? Whats so different from the normal 3DS? Knowing what the differences are between these 2 versions will be a big step forward in finding the cause.

For the record, I have entered to Data Management (did it weeks ago) in emuNAND and I deleted information that appeared as "?" and everything went as before.

And to clarify, this data has nothing to do with emuNAND, but probably with the fact that all the data stored on my SD was recovered after a corruption issue caused in my PC. I just wanted to state that deleting information in Data Management is not an automatic brick, but then again, I'm using Gateway.

I have gone into data management multiple times with GW b2, never had issues, aswell as running battery flat while on emuNAND, has anyone with quick access to flash their nand back, tried to replicate it and see if it can be forced ??

Just wondering whats up with your profile picture with the Islamic star on the "American Flag" or does a country actually have that kind of flag?
