This is great, as this means HOMEBREW! Although there is no open source devkit and libraries to port or create yet, this is great progress, and I might buy a 3ds and GW if the homebrew in 3DS mode is possible.
Looks like the NAND backup is homebrew, though. And if it is, it's most likely running in 3DS mode.

^The NAND dumper could be considered a homebrew and you can already use the GW3DS to update a 3DS' firmware to 4.5 with a rom containing the 4.5 update.
Did they say 6.3 was the last possible supported firmware since Nintendo got their hands on it at that point? Or was it 6.2 and below?
Just curious.
Since the product is now released and soon in Nintendo's hands, anything above 6.2.0 will most likely never be compatible.
