You didn't specify last time that you would only share a small portion of it, you said you'd rar it, split it, and share those archives (which means all of them).
If you're only sharing a very very small portion (and likewise it's of something that's useless without all the parts), there's no problem.
You know, like how people put up screenshots of a game or use the names and info in walkthroughs, etc.
See the Q/A in the Original PostToday I had my first streetpass since the icons dumping last night and noticed something awful: all of the extra puzzles from Puzzle Swap disappeared. Does anyone know why it happened? And how do I recover my puzzles??
The extra puzzles, are stored in StreetPass SD Extdata stored(on the SD card). If you made a backup of your original SD card as per the instructions, you should be fine. Just restore the StreetPass extdata directory "sd:/Nintendo 3DS/ID0/ID1/extdata/00000000/00000218" from your backup
what if many people split it up and then shared a very small portion of it?

Unfortunately no. Extdata is effectively signed (by use of an AES MAC). Modifying the embedded data in extdata will result in the 3DS rejecting the file. I haven't fully reversed how the extdata hash tree works as of yet, but there doesn't appear to be any flaws in the implementation.but can the same XOR pattern be used to re-encrypt the data and change the cached icons?
I was wondering when someone was going to ask that. I had the icon for the europe version of the Mii Maker extracted from my dev 3DS on my computer for over a year. I just recently realised I could use it to do this.I was wondering how did the first icon get decoded? Since there was no plain text..? xD

So finally, is it safe for all existing titles to put away a SD card, use another one for icon decypher and just return back for original card? I.e. 3DS do not save to NAND any data regarding to SD card used or data written to it, so SD card is completely independent?I manage to restore my plaza puzzles by following these instructions: http://blog.yellowchilli.net/2012/08/simple-fix-for-3dss-could-not-access-sd.html (phew).
Thanks anyway, 3DSGuy. =)
It might be a while before I get new games, but I'll make sure to post here when I dump their icons. =D
Then that's conspiracy to commit copyright infringement, I bet.what if many people split it up and then shared a very small portion of it?

I'm not sure why it happens either. But yes that method works. I'll put it in the Q and A.It was exactly what I did for the two last packs I uploaded and it worked flawlessly. The first time I used the same SD, so I had to backup data and I don't know why I had that problem, but using two different SD cards I had no problems. I'm not sure it works 100% of the time, though... 3DSGuy might know?
Also, I didn't open any app or game while with the "blank" SD on.
Also your link to your 3rd lot of icons is broken.
You can search for game's product code here: http://3ds.essh.co/ that has a database for all the releases. Not all of the icons dumped have their own releases, but that should cover the majority of the icons.BTW is there ane option to get a CTR product code for a title, I can't add several titles icons to my application because I just can't find those apps in Nintendo Japan site, at which product code is used as a part of a game link.
