Expected a new metroid. Disappointed. Where is the new "futuristic Retro Studios title everyone wants them to do"?
They're working on something else too, they probably started with the new DK right after Returns, DK doesn't coincide with any of the new retro project info we've had. And Reggie is saying that there are a lot more games to be unveiled but they doesn't feel are necessary to unveil yet until they've released their first batch of games.
I'm happy though as I personally wanted DK more than Metroid.
We know very little about 2014, what we saw was mostly 2013 games. Not counting Mario Kart's early 2014 release and
maybe the release of Smash, that year still remains a mystery. Everything we've seen so far is gonna release before Christmas. Which is a decent amount of games even if it's not enough for me to purchase a Wii U yet.
I think this can be the very much needed beginning for the system just like with the 3DS.
1. Release Mario
2. Watch the sales go up
3. unveil stuff at a direct
4. And everything rolls on from there.
History is repeating again.
And Smash is far from finished, a lot of the stage models were straight rips, few characters done etc. But also, They've had very little time with this, they're making a 3DS game simultaneously and Sakurai's wrist problems isn't making the situation any better.
