Updated the thread. Any feedback on the new layout?

Nano Assault EX is out, and completely destroys the original cart game solely due to CPP support.

Felt like making some more descriptions

EscapeVektor: For those who have fucking obscene expectations for game length (ie; A dollar an hour) or ignorantly believe every eShop game is overpriced (because somehow a $40 game on cart should cost less then $20 on download), this is definitely the game for you. A lengthy campaign with online leaderboards, achievements and tons of bonus levels.
Dillon's Rolling Western: A highly unique tower defense/action hybrid with colorful graphics, but note the game is brutally difficult and repetitive (as is the nature of tower defense games)
Gunman Clive: For those who enjoy Mega Man, Contra or any 2D action platformers, this is an awesome investment for $2.
Ikachan (Still don't get how this is a recommendation, considering if you multiply the price and length both by 8 you get 6-8 hours for $40): Be warned the campaign is EXTREMELY short, even with price taken into account.
Picross E: Classic Picross with almost no extra modes. You can’t go wrong here! (Yeah... This is last for a very good reason, lol)
Added your descriptions.

Turtle Tale announced

turtle-tale-2.jpg

- coming from Saturnine Games
- play as an armed turtle
- defend your tropical island
- use a water gun to fight enemies
- gameplay is classic 2D platformer

Cult County (horror FPS by Renegade Kid)

Renegade Kid, the devs behind the DS FPS games, Dementium and Moon are currently making a new FPS for the 3DS eShop in the horror genre. Might be released in 2013, but most likely a 2014 release.

Sandstorm effect is this game's "mist." Game takes place in Texas.

Will be released episodically; there will be three episodes per season, each episode will be about four hours long. There is a bigger emphasis on story than any previous Renegade Kid game.

They know the game looks like a DS game right now, but they wanted some footage to go with the announcement to set the feel. (The demo is called an "atmosphere" demo and there's basically no gameplay other than walking around the area.) They cited RE Revelations as a fantastic looking game they're striving towards, but also said they likely won't be able to get to that level because of their size.

Jools Watsham (RK co-founder, designer) said they have the story all planned (will include fictional religious details), but Gregg Hargrove (RK co-founder, art director) said they keep thinking of gameplay stuff they want to add to it ("Really do something special for our original fans", paraphrased.)

Circle Pad Pro-compatible.

Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate announced for 3DS/Vita.

batman_blackgate-3.jpg

LC903t7.jpg

- Warner Bros. wanted to have a 2.5D-style Arkham game in the style of Metroidvania
- The company chose Armature because the studio was familiar with that style of game
- Takes place after the end of Origins
- Set on the isolated island at the Blackgate Penitentiary
- Prison uprising has occurred
- Intro level in Gotham
- Batman goes to Blackgate in order to put a stop to the riot
- 2D animatics with full voices tell the story
- Batman moves through a side-scrolling game world
- He’ll pick up near gear and take on enemies along the way
- Interconnected passages and prison secrets
- Not focused on leveling up abilities like the console games
- Instead, it stays true to the subgenre’s formula
- All of Batman’s improvements came through gear pick-ups and upgrades
- Team wanted to give players more of a sense of collection
- Mostly set along a 2D plane
- Takes full advantage of the visual three-dimensionality of the environments
- Explore, fight, and interact with the foreground abnd background
- Can grapple up to gargoyles on a background balcony while a crowd of armed inmates pass by
- Enemies will go after Batman from all angles
- Go to the foreground or background to tackle a designed foe
- Combat similar to the console Batman games
- Button taps to attack, counter, and use gear are in place
- Freeflow combat system
- Built from the ground up
- Batarang: stun enemies or hit distant objects
- Line launcher: cross wide gaps
- Explosive gel variation: shoot from a launcher onto spots around the screen
- This lets you get involved with entertaining takedowns such as dropping a chandelier on enemies from above
- More gadgets will also be in the game
- Has a version of the predator mode
- Game has a few more layers of feedback
- Ex: can see the sightlines of enemies
- This lets you know if enemies can see you or not
- Same kind of vantage points, floor grates, silent takedowns, glide kicks, weapon use, and breakable walls as in the console games
- Game is split into various sections
- Each can be accessed once you figure out a way inside
- No save rooms
- Modern checkpoint system
- Can manually save whenever you desire
- Can defeat the bosses in any ordder if you find out where you want to go
- “We don’t want you to break the game, but if you can exploit it in a certain way that we haven’t thought of, that’s awesome. So it’s conceivable the players will have abilities that don’t necessarily jibe that great with the boss. We’ve taken some cues from other games where if you have a particular item against a boss, you’ll just rip them a new one, but we don’t tell you what that item is”
- Will have detective mode
- Tap a button and the screen fades into a digitized overlay with detailed info
- Green enemies: enemies haven’t seen you
- Red enemies: enemies are onto your location
- Move a reticle around the screen to focus Batman’s attention
- Can use this to uncover secrets
- Uncover clues and analyze dangerous situations in detective mode

Seeing that Shovel Knight is pretty much sure to be released for the system and the Game Grumps just happened to come across the closed beta, I think it's fair to add a gameplay video for it. :P

Meh. I'm skeptical. My previous experience says that 2D games transferred to 3D are sometimes good. 3D to 2D though, not so often.
I'm skeptical about the title as well. It looks bizzarely like something that was gimped to suit both the PSVita and the 3DS and that makes my bullsh*t alert go off instantly since it usually means "Cheap tie-in game".

Well it's being developed by the folks at Armature (ex-Retro dudes who worked on Metroid Prime) so I have more faith in the game than I normally would.

Yeah, here's for hoping that it'll be good. I would much prefer a standard installment rather than a side-scroller but I won't cross it out before I try it.

Well in that case then, skepticism = significantly decreased.

I'm still gonna watch this one with a wary eye, though. ;)

I really love the pic OP used. Also for anyone who owns this how disappointing is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, I heard at least the story was as good as blue, I played alll the other ones, should I buy this one too?

I hate the fact that it's a side scroller. Would have worked well if it were about 3D environments.
Honestly, I'm just tired of side scrolling platformers on handhelds. Seriously, both 3DS and Vita are more than capable of complex 3D action games, so aside from ports (Lego games) and first party games, why does it seem like there are barely any?

2D games are nice once in a while, but they should stick to the eshop where they belong.

Yeah, the 3DS and Vita weren't meant for these type of games.
And when finally a great game announces, something bad happens like:

1. OMG! THERE'S GONNA BE AN ASSASSIN'S CREED GAME FOR DA 3DS!
Oh wait, they cancelled it :/

2. OMG! THERE'S GONNA BE A BATMAN ARKHAM GAME FOR DA 3DS AND VITA!
Oh wait, it's a side scroller :/

Oh wait, Capcom cancelled it, SCREW THEM!
Fix'd :P

But in all seriousness, I don't mind sidescrollers on modern handhelds. I just don't want every great 3D franchise to hit handhelds and be, 'eh, let's make it a sidescroller because we're too lazy to develop a full 3D handheld game.' I don't mind it on consoles (NSMB, Rayman, etc), because there's an awesome simultaneous 2-4 multiplayer thing going on that's tough to replicate on handhelds (everyone has to have a copy of the game and the same handheld, for one).

Tetris Axis is $9.99 on the eShop. That's a pretty good price for it.
I haven't played many other tetris games (the only other versions I've played were the NES original, the GB version, and a version for my first cell phone), but this one is great for a good tetris fix. I'm just irritated that you're not allowed to use the circle pad (and are forced to use the oh-so-uncomfortably placed dpad).

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
