A very strange and disconcerting error occured - I was using the Neo-Geo core, and upon loading bangbead.zip it had loaded an incorrect palette (sort of brownish-purplish) and ran at half speed, the weird thing is this carried over even after I left retroarch, the homebrew channel ran with incorrect colors and at half speed! there is no problem with the game itself as I had loaded it fine afterwards, but just something really weird and similar to what happened to another user before (although I had not left the console running for several hours beforehand and didn't have to do with resolution settings). Unfortunately I don't know how to reproduce it, sorry...

On another note, I am completely blown away by the fact that space bomber and gunbarich run fullspeed!
Had this problem a while ago also, seems to be connected to the video settings conflicting somehow. I will not get into that argument anymore...

Offtopic: Does anybody have a master list of working FBA games in conjunction with Retroarch Wii , sorted to system?( CPS1&2, NeoGeo, Other boards)
I'm trying to get my collection up to date and this would probably speed things up.

I would prefer them separated as I can have different control setups for different arcade boards.
If that would be the case I think that he could have released the splitted FBA cores plus the all-in-one FBAcore for people who don't need to change controls.
Using wiiflow as interface I'd rather not to have 3 different cores for fba in the source menu.

Am I missing something?
Nestopia does NOT seem to be able to load any FDS images on my behalve.
"an error occured during loading".
My biosfile is in sd:/retroarch/system
Does the program look there?

The extension is .FDS

I will test all CPS1 games on Gamecube this weekend.
As far as I know, some CPS1 games, such as SFZCH and WOFSJ, won't run on Gamecube. I will list all of them.

I don't understand this:

Why did you remove all those drivers on FBA?
On the wii it was very handy to use the same core for CPS1/CPS2/Neo Geo and every game I tried worked perfectly.
Maybe the reason is to increase compatibilty with other games?

Also, I read somewhere that you have plans to cooperate with wiiflow developers. What's on your mind? Just curious.

Please don't question what I do to FBA - your Wii is strapped for RAM to begin with - the more drivers that can be 'removed' from mainline FBA and moved into separate cores the bigger the memory footprint is for loading other games.

These games you mentioned work fine in retroarch wii for what it's worth, aside from the "CRC check games" I imagine.
AWESOME RELEASE!
Still it seems to be a problem loading neogeo games one after the other ( blackscreen etc ), workaround for me is to restart retroarch wii from the gui options , before loading a different game. Would it be a strange thought if this process could be managed by retroarch wii, in future releases?

Your ROMs are bad, your BIOS is probably bad. Also, you need to use FBA Cores Neo - not the mainline FBA.

Every rom I threw at it ( < 23 Mb ) seems to work!
Still I have a question about the dip/maint. settings. For example getting to this settings in battle garegga results in an coin error.

This happens when you are fast forwarding and then press the Coin button. The driver is not prepared to deal with such rapid presses of the Coin button.

Soon, i'll share the folder ;)

Btw since we are giving feedback and reporting certain problematic roms, Snowbros 1, Osman CharlieEn etc have also got palette problems. Powerdrift has a weird lines issue as well (every other vertical line is correct). In order to be useful, I'll post a reminder of all the NYW (not yet working) fba roms so that we know what to look out for:

(ignore xsleena in there, that one is not for fba) , plus the >23mb ones that are here.

PS. As always, for the 492 working roms look for the list on top of page 106

BTW, I tested most of the games in that screenshot of yours and most of them work just fine. So you probably have bad ROMs.

Loading them after a restart seem to fix my problem though...I can play all NEOGEO games without problem this way.
Coin error also happens when you press all four LR button and + and -
No setup menu.

I tested it and CPS1 games ran all very well :)
Of course, it also has some bugs.
Switching games often crashes the emu; FBA main core does not work, I tried Contra and Super Contra and they all crashed the emu and reboot the Gamecube.
I have a small request: can you disable ROM CRC check in the next release? I want to play a CPS game(wofch3p, a hacked version of wofch, mainly enable hidden mode
in wofch) which is only supported in FBA shuffle. With ROM CRC check I can not run a hacked ROM if I want to play it before it is supported by RetroArch.
Here's the resource code for wofch3p in FBAS.

I'm NOT going to disable CRC ROM checking - this is an absolutely essential feature that we need for when a ROM file can't be loaded - that way, instead of crashing it will just simply return an error code back which the frontend can then pick up and produce a customized error message.

Not going to remove that - also, this is FBA mainline - this is not FBA Shuffle and in fact the original developers LOATHE FBA Shuffle - so it's very doubtful you'll ever see stuff in there end up in FBA.

Nothing that can be done about it. It's a driver issue.
Okay, I suspected that, no big deal.
About NEOGEO games.
It seems I can get every game to work under 23 mb, if I restart in between ( takes only a sec ), so how is it that my files are bad?
Any guidelines about WHAT I need then? Would be handy to know and a lot more usefull than saying "your files are bad".
As far as I am experiencing it, it's a minor bug.

Also you might have missed my post about the FDS games not working in nesptopia.
Did everything you said, and I am using a goodromset and a valid working bios, that work wiht all the "other"emus.

Anyway great job!

I had this issue too with XMCOTA in the last release, the mother rom would not load. I added one of the child roms (in the same folder) and it worked. Perhaps the mother rom does not contain a file that is found in another zip file that worked in a previous version of FBA.

Try to load a big sized ROM first (kof96 or even wakuwak7) - I've found you can load other ROMs easily then.

Anyways, I dunno - this is FBA being FBA (probably memory leaks) and the Wii having a paltry amount of RAM to begin with. There is not 'a lot more useful' I can tell you other than that FBA was never designed for consoles with low amounts of RAM. You're playing these games on an underpowered console - you're lucky a lot of ROM work as well as they do.

I dunno - it works fine here when I tested it on PC, so it should work fine on all other platforms.

Oh, I 'better should look into it' now do I? And what if I 'don't'? Somebody is going to sue me?
Sorry see previous post, misunderstood. And NO I'm going to sue you, lol.
What's up with that? Did I say something wrong?
I would appreciate you taking my report serious.
No point in acting this way now is there? How many thank you's do you want?

A well, I've got some left: THANK YOU!

Just reporting, I could not care less if you manage to fix it, really...it's up to you anyway.
Maybe you should thank me, keeping up with you, being offensive frequently.
Though I must admit I find it VERY satisfying reporting bugs to you lately.
Though you mostly seem to report back in a "strange way"....keep it easy.
