Be ashamed, all you care is about piracy, this is what will ruin the 3ds but im all for the hack to get rid of the region lockWhen this is released. Would i be able to download and play 3ds roms??
If it's anything like the Wii, they'll probably try and block it a few times and then give up. You might say they've learned from the Wii, but their online strategy says otherwise, right?I'm just hoping it's not going to be the same cat and mouse game that every other firmware update can patch. I'm hoping the exploit leads to some kind up anti-updating mechanism, so we can block official updates much like the Wii blocks Disc updates. That way when we've got the green flag to update, we can do it manually, like with the PSP.
I honestly can't think of a single system that was actually ruined by the piracy. Hell the wii probably had one of the highest piracy rates around and has top sales to show for it, PSP also got good sales as well as the 360 (although less pirated). What i look forward to is playing gamecube games on my 3ds however.Be ashamed, all you care is about piracy, this is what will ruin the 3ds but im all for the hack to get rid of the region lock
No problem, I probably won't have as many updates at least until next week. Thanks for this thread. The "we hacked it" thread is super long and continues to gain pages every time I check the site. Will be checking page 1 here from now on. Unless an odd interesting thread gets posted.
Good luck bud.I honestly can't think of a single system that was actually ruined by the piracy. People make portable crap like that all the time. While Gamecube games on the 3DS would be amazing, I'm pretty sure you'd have better luck shelling out a grand to have a portable gamecube made for you...
People make portable crap like that all the time.
All seriously legit.
It's to PREVENT you from saying they weren't legit.Did I say it wasn't legit? =/
Oh, and that makes so much more sense. It's to PREVENT you from saying they weren't legit.
Why the heck would you think you could play a gamecube game on a 3ds? I mean, unless it was turned into a 3DS game, then that would be impossible. While Gamecube games on the 3DS would be amazing, I'm pretty sure you'd have better luck shelling out a grand to have a portable gamecube made for you...
When you say sign a Save do you mean the ROM data? There's is a file called movable.sed on every 3DS. It is unique to each individual console. This is used to sign saves on the SD card for THAT console. Someone else's movable.sed is useless to you. You would have to dump your own to be able to properly encrypt SD saves for your console. To do that, you would run some program via the game card exploit which would dump the movable.sed from your NAND. After that, you could encrypt SD saves i.e. eShop saves

Then how would signing save data let us run Homebrew and stuff? No, the save data.
AFAIK, the Roms and Saves are usually separate.
