That overlapping banner problem should be fixed now, oh and this "Back" button to zoom is just a temporary solution, if I get it to work it will be enough to just click on the banner itself to zoom in. Buttons need to be moved as well, thats correct.

This is excellent Fix I'm in love with the layout of and I remember seeing this post and thought "that would be perfectly awesome" but I just didn't really see it coming as quickly as it did.

Some observations & recommendations:

1. There are 3 sizes of banners Full screen, Small framed and small unframed like in the following 3 screenshots:

Recommendation 1: Crop the banner display area to the small size and force black frame outside.

Of course Buttons are in the way so

Recommendation 2: Hide them while wiimote is away
or rearrange them at the bottom like this for instance:

Also right on the money. I would say that if the Banner can't be made to completely take up the screen so it looks uniform, a smaller banner with a black frame is equally aesthetically appealing. If possible I would like to be able to adjust fullscreen banners the way we do Wiiflow's screen in settings page 6 that way we can make it fullscreen with no frame/borders

One thing I would prefer would be to click on the small trailer to bring up fullscreen mode which I think you already mentioned. The Layout of the buttons on the bottom while in fullscreen is great and when you point your wiimote away from the screen the buttons should disappear.

Recommendation 3: Add icon support in icon-flow view mode (if possible or in simple grid similar to GX mode would do the trick.

Regarding Wiiflow icons: Since "About" and "Settings" are accessible through Home-Menu now
Recommendation 4: We can replace their icons with dedicated "Select View mode" i.e. covers vs icons and "Select Source" button. this way you can get rid of most of the shortcuts

Recommendation 5: Add baner cache support and custom banners download

Old Recommendation 6: Add support for magix#.png in source menu folder where this PNG is used when no game cover is present - you may also add wii.png Gc.png Nand.png and emuNand.png homebrew.png for completion sake (why not )

I gotta give it to you [member='AbdallahTerro'] I agree with just about every single idea/suggestion you've proposed here, and would be very pleased with this form of presentation for Wiiflow; simple and damn right sexy.

#7 : My vote goes to the first one, although I guess there is a technical limitation that doesn't allow it's fruition. The second gif is cool but I think that the flow motion should belong to the whole word "WiiFlow" and not just "Flow", it would look better in my opinion. Although at heart I still love the old school dot..dot..dot that used to be the WiiFlow logo

That is very nice but the app is currently set to display 1 of 5 png's with a .3 second delay between each. I dummied these up but I like the original dot..dot one.

Just putting my small 2 cents out there since most of these ideas I'm just agreeing with and riding on lol. Can't say it enough fix excellent work thus far, you haven't ceased to impress me with how far and fast WiiFlow is evolving.

the only problem is this only for looks for me, i still cannot load any wii games! even with the revs that use 56 or 57 base by default. i deleted cache and ini, started over fresh install, still just get beeps then frozen. i even tried setting to IOS 249 or IOS 250 still failed. im using d2x v8 final, i guess i should remove all others except 249-250 and see if it still works.

Nah, that's not gonna help anything, You can have as many IOS and cIOS installed as you like they don't interfere with each other as there's always only one loaded at a time. d2x v8 final with base 56 should be fine, maybe there's a problem with your hard drive? Have you tried another loader to compare?

I enjoy most fanart over banners since the backgrounds and sometimes even the animations are better than the one's done by the game producers themselves lol. If I could have the option to switch between both, it would be awesome.

Something in the .ini like "if_no_fanart_play_banner=yes" would be so sick!! And if users preffered you could have settings to always show cover, or show cover after delay, or never show cover whatever. Just throwing some stuff out there but please if possible leave the ability to play fanart over banners in. Thanks.

yes of course, wiiflow used to work fine before like r506 (i forget exactly which one worked) and usb loader gx works no problem.

I think that if banners are stable enough we can drop the fanart...keeping both creates maybe another memory issue, also fanart is harder to maintain..

In order not to lose any feature I'll elaborate more:
Having a dedcated button or option in setting to view either the DVD cover or the Banner or Both will solve this issue
Choosing DVD cover makes Wiiflow behave as if no Banners exist
Choosing Banner directly open a full screen banner when a game is selected
Choosing "Both" behaves like final release where a banner thumbnail or icon is displayed on right top corner.

If icons gets supported only minor adjustment will be needed - but let's keep that till later

Second observation is regarding the bottom part of the screen while banners are displayed in full screen mode: Rearranging the icons on black background is a good option
Or a neater way will be to have a sort of panel with buttons (just a casual option for Wiiflow that will keep theme creators busy for a while) - GX has 2 system menu like buttons to do the trick.

i like making my own banners.( sorta fan art style). better then covers, covers don't have any animation . this is going to keep me busy for awhile.(making banners for movies, just using the dvd opening menu)
but i do like the option in the ini. to choose to use banner or not.
also the way i changed the txt colors of game names that show up in the theme, was in the themes ini.. almost all the way to the bottom of the ini, for what ever theme your using.( i use default, i like the simple black, though would like mybe a way to change a few things.) you'll see a line with "font="(this is an empty line,in default) then under that "font color= " the covers are in the same ini. you'll have to search for the line .. . no it's not the png, i just changed that to match my covers, to go with my plugins.( black goes with any thing). i havent played or test any updates in awhile.(my wiiflow isn't in the 500's, i think it is when fix just added dml support, if that helps. but will be playing with newer wiiflow as soon as i get my sd reader.)

Ahh what a shame well then maybe an option just to keep it old school with the ability to play fanart instead of banners? As I said most of the banners are overrated, indeed it's emulation at it's best but I think the creativity of those that put the fanart together should still be able to be appreciated. Anyways it's just a request so if Fix decides to leave it behind so be it, I just wanted to let him know though that there is support for fanart

Hi Fix. Just played with r531 and it looks good. One suggestion though. If you are in icon mode and have the mini-banner on the top right could you clear the icon/banner frame to black if the user presses the arrow buttons to move to a different game? On my system there is a noticable lag before it loads the next game banner.

The next game cover art is displayed first and then the icon/banner changed. For a split second you have the new cover art and the previous icon/banner displayed. If you clear the icon/banner frame to black when the button press occurs it would look better IMO.

I don't know what parameters its under in the theme ini file.

on a side note, i actually got wii games to launch! i had to go to d2x v9b49, and change emu nand to gamesave only. then i have to set the IOS (i think so, ref back to picture i can't really see it due to overlapping) and it works! bit of a pain in the ass but it works at least.

well it appears there is 3 options in that mess. i moved IOS. but i don't know the other two.

i found the options! yeahhh! but the only problem is that i didn't change the IOS, i changed the nand emu setting. nand emu is not working for me in wiiflow any longer. it was working when overjoy fixed it. and it still works in other apps. oh well, not a biggie im sure it will be worked on.

Thats looking funny Yeah its a theme problem for sure, I would just temp go to the old theme, maybe somebody who knows how that works can help you there, I havent got any idea how to adjust that, the code is pretty old and I never really looked into it.

Done that, I dont really get why it takes long for you, here it is very fast just like it was before, no slowdowns or so as you have seen in the video.

Thanks Meister Fix for adding custom banners,
I tested all my GC games today and noticed that whenever I copy a bnr file to \wiiflow\banners folder wiiflow codedumps on startup then works fine the next boot time (tested 3 times)
banners look great with the new button arrangement.
Can you please add online banner download to make life easier
