Oh wait, pokéstation were the ones that translated Nobunaga's Ambition, right? I thought this was a random project to be started by someone that wanted others to do the editing for them. Sorry about that. But still, new pokemon games usually stump us with protection for a little while, and then some more time until editing text is possible.

Unless it really is just using B/W engine, which seems very likely.

To be honest, knowing Hiragana and some Katakana isn't really going to help anyone with any translation. 15 Kanji isn't even close enough.
Many games, especially games like Pokemon, tend to have a lot of Katakana. You would need a lot of Japanese knowledge to translate accurately.

If you need something to do until you get a job, you could study more Japanese. Learning a language is never a bad thing

They are all fake. There are no real roms available

Some people want to play and beat the game around the time when it comes out instead of waiting a couple more months to play a good game, so yeah to some there is a point.

By the time a full English patch is released, the official English game will be out.
Every pokemon release is the same. The only difference between this release and the others is a shorter wait for the English release.

Ho ho don't know if it will be an easy one. Hope you'll be able to make a quick menu patch, and maybe an skills patch (or even pokemon names) after that. Storywise I don't think you'd be able to pull this off sadly

I like fan Translations because more of the original meanings are kept. Kinda like the Village Bridge thing in BW. The man that sings, iirc, says he's homeless or something in the Japanese version, but says elsewise in international releases. Fan Translations keep that stuff in there, which is really nice. I support this project.

Some people want to play the English games early. Others just want to have an alternate translation, rather than to use the official localization. It is a way of pleasing the purist fans who like to be technical about things. Regardless of your reasons of interest, this thread was created early so that there will be a team prepared for when the games are released.

I think we should just them do it and stop critizing them for being impatient. it's not taking anyone's time but their own. plus i bet when a patch is released whether you want to wait or not you're going to try it out haha!
