$20 says you go and immediately buy one if your girlfriend breaks up with you :ha:
...I should roll that $20 bucks and shove it up your nose for even construding the thought that my beloved gal would leave me. :creep:

But I won't cause you're a nice guy. :P There will be a time to get a 3DS, probably soon too, seeing as they're getting cheaper and cheaper. They're close to my target price, but I still wanna wait a bit longer, if I catch a good deal, I just might grab one. ;) Get myself a late birthday present... :)

D'aw ;) If it makes you feel better, I purposely replaced "when" with "if" so as to not imply that she would leave. :ha:

Anyway,on topic... Honestly, if you can deal with the wait, then that's the best thing to do. As happy as I am that I got a system early in it's life for the first time (that is, within the first year), Nothing is more thrilling than FINALLY getting a system a few years down the road, and having DOZENS of games you've been dying to try, and most of them are heavily discounted because they've been out for a while. :D

Couldn't agree more. I bought a DSLite the same year the DSi was released, and only because I was also interested in the GBA compatibility. Theoretically I should still get a DSi before I get a 3DS, practically the 3DS is compatible with DSiWare so... yeah, I can deal with the wait. :P

Wouldn't the addition of a second analog nub in a redesign just antagonize early adopters even further?

those adopters should grow up and not be such cry babies, they did not cry that the DSI had a faster Processor, a cam and a bigger screen either.
The DSi is actually a whole-new console, it was just backwards-compatible and had like, how many games? 5? That and DSiWare. I'm still not sure why it was marketed as a DS when it was really an entirely separate machine. But yeah, you are absolutely right - revisions are a natural thing in gaming and some include add-ons. The PSP Fat had no microphone built-in, the PSP-3000 has one. The PSP Fat had 32 MB of RAM, the PSP-2000 and onwards had 64. Same console, different feature - let's hear a round of applause for progress.

so? How many games will make the second stick mandatory? 0? so who cares if a new version has a better screen and a second stick?

How many games used the built-in microphone? Only S.O.C.O.M and Skype as far as I know. How many games used the cameras on the DSi? Well, there are, like, 5 DSi games and a few DSiEnhanced games so you do the maths. How many games need the MotionPlus attachment? 8? Argument refuted.

I don't know why you talk off topic about Skype...voip over ds...like hellods? nah, I suppose some people just need to say something for saying something,hu?
but lets go back to what I said, the second Stick wont be mandatory and you can still buy this bulky add-on, so no one is left behind.

well if you cnat get over it, ok, well, c'est la vie.

anyway, its late...good night...

Read the entirety of the quote pyramid, I was clearly refering to the PSP. If you don't want a 3DS with a built-in second analog, that's fine, but that's just your opinion. I wouldn't mind if the 3DS was bulkier if it offered better functionality.

Precisely my point from earlier. If you dont care for a better screen and second analog, then don't buy it. You can still use the original. Simple as that.

The only real reason I think its stupid to add a stick is for the simple fact that ANY THING the second stick can do the touch screen can do better in its own way, but with that said the only reason I support the CPP is that it enables lefties to use the touch screen + circle pad combo. The only reason im sure they wouldnt put it in a revision is for the simple fact that Nintendo really doesnt give a shit about a second stick, it would have NEVER been used in KI:U if it wasnt for its controls so that just released the CPP so that they can cover lefties. If they did actually care about the second stick im pretty sure they would have made KI:U a dual stick TPS. Plus, we gotta remeber that the only reason this is even around is for the same reason the classic controller pro is around. Capcom presured Nintendo into it.

I think Nintendo does give a sh*t about Dual Analog judging from the Gamecube controller, the Classic Controller, the WiiU controller and now the CirclepadPro. They wanted to have dual analog, they could not fit it on the console at the time, they released it as an add-on - it's simple as that. As much as I like the touchscreen, sometimes analog sliders or sticks are just *better*. Everything depends on the task.

Eh. I gotta disagree. gaming was never a problem for lefties before dual sticks were even around, so why worry now? And a touch screen analog just doesn't work anywhere near as well, from my experience. Were this a capacitive screen like on the Vita or on smartphones, it might be. But on a resistive screen, it's impossible without removing my thumb and repositioning every 5 seconds.

The way I see it, Nintendo would've never released the CPP in the first place if they didn't think the 3DS needed it for at least some games. I could be very wrong, but I guess we'll never know until (if) the revision comes to be.

Where did you get this information about Capcom "pressuring" Nintendo? And why? I don't know of any 3DS games by Capcom that utilize the CPP.

Well, that kinda was how I thought of it since the first game we heard of this thing from was MHTri G I may be wrong, its just my thoughts on the topic though.

I think Nintendo does give a sh*t about Dual Analog judging from the Gamecube controller no other practical replacements of a second stick exsisted at the time, the Classic Controller Im pretty sure this was made purely with VC in mind, besides im pretty sure it wasnt sold half as much till MH Tri came out and the CCP came with it so same arguement as above, the WiiU controller Well, you cant have a HD console without dual sticks now can you? And I really think this was also just put in more for third party support then anything plus the Wii U tablet is much larger then a 3DS I would also think it would weigh more and make touch screen aimming much harder and now the CirclepadPro Eh, I already said what I had to say about this. They wanted to have dual analog, they could not fit it on the console at the time Thats possible but remeber this thing is also more powerful then a PSP and its smaller then a DSL so I think if they REALLY wanted to they could have just made it a bit bigger then a DSL and stuck in the second CP, they released it as an add-on - it's simple as that nobodies arguing with that. As much as I like the touchscreen, sometimes analog sliders or sticks are just *better* Eh, well as far as FPS'es (which lets be honest is the prime reason people want second sticks) I think the touch screen is fairly better in the sense that you have more control over where targeting goes and how fast it does, but thats me. Everything depends on the task Your right about that, as far as adventure game cammera I agree that the touch screen is lacking there but when it comes to pretty much any other gener I play that would use it I think the touch screen beats it but once again thats me. .

From a Nintendo fanboy, I admit the Vita is much more powerful graphic-wise. However I wouldn't base a decision to purchase either of them solely on that factor. After all, It is not what a game looks like, but how it plays.

I think it's funny that we're comparing a 3D jpeg placed on a poorly made DS Lite (as representation for the 3DS) to a PS Vita game.
