Hello, I'm trying to figure out a way to translate this game.
I already found the file that I believe contain the subtitles, subtitles.wifnt, but I stopped there, I did not find any tool capable of extracting / opening this file extension.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

Based on how that file is structured, I believe it to be a font rather than text data.

There are currently no tools for XB2's archive format, and nobody seems to have figured it out yet. I'd suggest asking for an unpacker on Xentax rather than here.

(Also, posting that file is probably against the rules.)

Thank you, I've already taken a look at xentax but I did not ask anything

So, I took a trip around the internet and after following random links around, it turns out some guy has in fact written a bf2 unpacker, although you'll have to compile it yourself and I'm unsure if it's able to repack.

I know, I compiled and used It , what I wanted was to extract the subtitles .wifnt file.
So I already discovered that it was not the file with the subtitles, but rather the common.bdat.
By the way, thank you for trying to help.

.wifnt is font file
If you want edit font, you just need to edit standard.wifnt.
As long as I know, english version mostly use standard.wifnt only.

_ms.bdat is message file.
If you want to edit message(include cutscene) you just edit these _ms.bdat files.

I'm translating this game to my language

ps.Which language do you trying to translate?

Thaks for the reply.
I have already identified all the files needed for the translation, which will be in Portuguese.
But now my problem is another, I'm forced to use the same amount of characters (or less) that the original bdat used ...
Were you able to solve this problem?

No, the messages in the _ms.bdat files.
If you need to edit _ms.bdat, maybe I could help
I convert _ms.bdat to .txt and edit the text.

ps.How do you reimport bf2.ard/arh?
