Hardware Wii U without gamepad

Hey! Been looking at Wii Us on ebay and amazon, and I noticed a lot of them have no gamepad included...
What the hell...How do people manage to lose it? Anyway, Is it worth buying a Wii U with no gamepad? Cause some of those deals are pretty cheap...

When I first got my WiiU a few years back, Someone broke into my house to rob me while I was sleeping.
They stole the WiiU controller among other things. I ended up finding a brand new one on ebay for $50 plus free shipping. I happened to be seeing the consoles on ebay also, so I would personally wouldnt order one unless you can find the right deal with both peices.
