I just bought a N3DS two days ago, (current version is latest 10.3-28U or whatever) and I've installed ironhax (I had an old 3ds which I transferred all my data from it to my new one) and also the modified FBI thing that lets you install legit CIAs above in 10.3. I did successfully do that, and if you were wondering I don't use menuhax because I use the custom theme tool (Should I not just in case I do upgrade to 10.4?) I'm VERY new to all this, and the more I dig around the more I see people trying to downgrade to 9.2. Is there any reason I should? I want to install any cia I want, but I hear it may be possible if I stick to 10.3 in the future. Please inform me if I am wrong about anything.

Edit: I decided to do this but I regret it after some kind of error happened, but I think I might be able to fix it.

A CFW for 10.3 isn't coming anytime soon, and would be rather pointless as 9.2 already has CFW/GW.
You should downgrade to 9.2 even if you're on a New 3DS.
10.3 emunand will be possible soon so there won't be any benefits to having a sysnand above 9.2.

If you softbricked you should try going to into recovery mode.

Keep in mind support for 9.5+ emunand is not implemented in anything as of this post, so if you want to update you need to update to 9.5.
You can't update higher than that in N3DS emunand.

You can only install legit CIAs above 9.2.
With a downgrade you can use CFW, Gateway, etc.
You're not limited to legit CIAs (and 3ds/3dz if you have a Sky3DS) with 9.2.
