Price lists never drop for any console. What you see is the discount price.
As for Nintendo games, they always sell a lot so they don't even bother to give discounts out. But if they flop, the sellers are going to sell them in order to avoid tons of unsold copies. I got Other M one year after release for 10Eur. That's a Nintendo game, and a heavily criticized one.

your asking why games are so expensive here when you live in Australia? cmon mate you should know by now we get ripped off left right and center on EVERYTHING!
Here's a good one: If you live in any Southern Canadian city that has close access to the border, most 3DS/Wii U games are $5 cheaper in the US. We pay $64.99 + tax for MK8, while the US gets it for $59.99 + tax. Literally the difference of a border is $5, but that also has to do with the failing Canadian dollar I'd think, although this trend has been about for a while.
I was in EB games the other day and saw Mario Kart DS for its original full price. And that game is over 10 years old!!!!
When I was working at Target, MKDS was $5 more than MK7. I always wondered why that was. As well, at the local WalMart, Metroid Other M is almost $80 for some reason. I literally had to take a double take on that price tag when I first saw it.

Yeah, the Wii also suffered from having a shortage of quality games during its lifetime.

Nintendo needs to make sure that this doesn't happen again for a third time.
