I'm looking for the best guide on pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Way back when RBY was out, I had the nintendo guide which was really nice because it had all of the pokemon's stats in the back showing which areas they were good at. However, i'm looking to buy a guide online and wanted to know which company has the best guide? Thanks

I agree, don't bother buying a guide when everything is laid out for you online, but if for some reason you feel like blowing the money, prima is definitely the way to go. Bought a prima guide for gold/silver and it had the locations of all the pokemon+guide to catching all unknowns, whereas the nintendo guide had none of that.

I do actually enjoy using a bought guide more than stuff from the internet. I just like .. well, I like reading the god damn book or something

I'm a materialist I guess... In some weird and pervert way.

Prima. I haven't had change to see into Nintendo's guides but Prima's been working for me pretty well.

As a personal preference, I pick Nintendo game guides for games like Pokemon.
However, I agree with the above posters. GameFAQs and Serebii.net is all you need when it comes to Pokemon.

Most all other times I rarely buy guides but for the original pokemon, it really helped to visualy see all the stats and abilities of the different pokemon and be able to flip to a city and immediatly see what pokemon are in the area. Plus, I don't need a computer to load up the faqs. And sometimes just reading in a book is easier

I agree with above, getting up and using computer is just a blah... I do have a laptop but it's much easier with a book that you can keep on your lap and flip around as you see.

And usually it's easier... Like said above. But yeah, generally I do use guides from internet like gamefaqs etc. But some games, mostly RPG's I get the guide. Example for FFXII I got the guide as soon as possible, didn't use it on the first run naturally. I used it on the second run to pick up missed stuff and things I couldn't just figure out. (Like how the get Zodiak Spear, how the hell am I supposed to know you aren't allowed to open four TREASURE CHESTS to get the weapon pretty much in the end of the game
