Never had good luck trying to update mine (second hand). It only updated once while I used it and then some while later, the battery died. Despite me replacing the battery with an 'original' oem battery and a new 'original' cable, it just refused to upadate any more (even using DFU mode). Apple repair place near me couldn't get it to update either.
