I really don't know what to make of this situation. Some say waninkoko stopped working on it for attention and so that everyone would bow down and blow him and beg him to start working on it again, generating huge amounts of publicity if he ever did decide to work on it again. I have also heard that he stopped because he was using the loader to try to get a mod team to pay him for a full version of it. I just think hes a little mad that his hard work got released prematurely. Although his site says that he doesn't care about who leaked it, I think its the reason he stopped.

I agree with this thread. Just look how much attentention thie project has obtained. It managed to bring down GBAtemp for awhile from all the buzz. To let this project go unfinished would be bad for the community. Dont let soem random guy ruin months of hard work.

It would be a shame to see such a good project go to waste.

Don't let greedy pirates ruin your work, just keep your work completely internal until it's ready, if you feel like doing it.
I never planned to use it personally, but a lot of people would appreciate and respect your work.

Your work caught the attention of many big news sources like nintendowiifanboy and kotaku, it shows that people care.

what the hell are you even doing here if you think so?
shut the fuck up and go back where you came from

It's too bad that one person ruined it for the rest of us by leaking it, and then a bunch of impatient people picked up the bandwagon (I'm looking at you JPH

). I was eagerly and patiently awaiting the official release, and then I found out that some D-bag came along and did this.

So I won't apologize, because I did not do anything. However, I will say that you deserve a lot more credit in the Wii scene that what you are given. Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to advance the scene. And please understand that many of us like myself would deeply appreciate it if you would pick up your work with the loader once again. For myself, it was by far the most exciting news since the announcement of the Twilight Hack, and I hate to see it get cut off so short

I don't know why Waninkoko is mad at GBATemp. I'm not a beta tester. I'm not the leaker. I got the link from a site that was going apeshit over the leak. All I did was copy and paste a link from that site to GBATemp.

Please do not respond to any of our hateful or idiot members. Sadly they can't all be euthenased and society must put up with them.

Any more insulting and mud slinging and I'll close this thread too.

You don't know to who are you talking. So, shut up!

QUOTE(atomikramp @ Sep 20 2008, 02:33 AM) ... what have i done wrong after all?"
since i feel like a part of the community, i don't like to be addressed of something i didn't do...

But you maybe downloaded or even used his leaked project!!!

that's the point, maybe yes, maybe not...
and since you can't know, it's not good to point the finger without the evidences.

after all
(damn i was looking for the message to quote it from the original message but can't find right now and the forum is slow)
i wrote on the "backup loader infinite thread" that i wasn't going to download anything wich wasn't published on the author's website.

and so i did, trust me or not.
so i don't feel involved in the stealing of the code.

that doesn't mean that i don't understand how waninkoko is feeling angry right now for what happened.. since i passed from that stage before, while i was working at a project that someone stole me, and that's not all, that freaky bastard also made lot of money out of it...

:/

I guarantee 90%, if not more, of the people kissing his ass couldn't care less about "respecting" his work. They just want to be able to play games for free and are hoping the endless praise will be a means to an end. If so many people really respected his work then it wouldnt've been downloaded and spread around here so much. The vast majority of the people in that thread were just asking how to use it and didn't care about respect at the point because they finally got what they've been begging for.

Unfortunately, you get a lot of greedy people who just want free games.

Nobody even seems to care that it was an internal release, being tested before it was ready for a beta release.

My WII is already modded. This Project

will offers many things to the N-Community. Why not a movie-DVD feature to the WII even if it seems something far

I'll forgive us but... when? I don't know. Maybe 1 month, maybe 1 year... or never.
Don't be such a martyr. It's 100% your fault that it leaked (random people on MSN? yeah, I'm sure you can trust them!) and you just want to get a reaction out of people.

Lots of people are disassembling the backup loader and fixing bugs in IRC, anyway.

edit: to clarify, I "respect" all the work you've done, but you can't be so careless. It's almost like you wanted this to happen just so you could have a ton of people kissing your ass later. Every post you've made on GBAtemp since has been a "pity me!" post and it's getting old-- you're lucky to have software that people want to leak.

QUOTE(LeonardoGolden @ Sep 19 2008, 04:28 PM) I don't need sympathy from him. He's acting like a butthurt sissy for something that was just waiting to happen.

As much as I want the backup loader, I think Waninkoko is acting really stupid right now.
I have to agree... while that wasn't put very eloquently, the Wii hacking community needs to grow some balls and realize that if someone is being whiny and begging for attention, you don't have to give it to them, regardless of what they can do for you.

i don't feel myself as part of these 90%...

but who cares?

and by the way
it's obvious that many ppl downloaded it..

it's just like to say to a kid in the early afternoon: "here is the cake on the table, but it's for dinner so don't eat it.."
it's a natural reaction, when you see something you really want that bad, you can't resist and try to catch it whenever it comes the chance for it, even if it's not finished yet, the same as the cake, maybe his mom didn't finish to put the strowberries on it.

Because popular belief is that it was leaked here.
Even if it was truly leaked at the other site, it's pretty safe to say it really took off when it got here.
