Just checking back in to say that I picked up a second wii to start the hacking process from scratch -- what I've determined is that the original wii I have had games installed via haxchi run through the browser exploit. In any case, I wanted to say thanks for all the advice! I'll have more questions in future (and am about to post them in a new thread) and this is a really great and welcoming place.
