New to the forums , lurked for a while , great info .

Trying to setup two wiis for my nephew , one for his home one for his gradparents.

Consoles were cheap , traded an older computer for one with 3 essential mario games and a mote+chuck.
But later noticed fan was not spinning, got a bit warm. (but did not freeze, as i was not turning it on for too long before noticing)
Made a custom 3 lobed screwdriver with some small files and a bench belt sander out of an old screwdriver :).
Turned out someone stuck something in the fan and bent one of the fan wires that interfered with the fan.

Second one came as a bonus buying two more controllers and mariokart wheels without power supply, $20.
(but was dropped, cracked front plate), Some super glue and its all good. And a bonus mariokart disk inside.
Some squeaks from dvd drive on poweron, but some salvaged lithium grease from an old ide dvd drive and its ok.

updated 4.3-u ,letterbomb, bootmii, homebrew, priiloader, usbloadergx ,cios beta52 (not alt) base 57 in 249 base 56 in 250 on both units.
Except first one is rev1 so bootmii in boot2, second one is rev2 so bootmii as ios.
Multiple initial bootmii nand dumps on each just in case , archived on pc.

Everything works great , one with 64gig usb stick , other with hard drive .
All wbs-iso games run perfectly , except excite trucks which does not like 480p fix turned on on one
console that has component cables. but easy fix.

But having difficulty getting rev2 to dump a good emunand from usbloadergx for wiiware games .
All wad games will blackscreen and freeze the console with rev2 dumps but mii channel works. (dumping to 2gig fat32 sds)

Nand dumps to emunand from rev1 work perfectly with wiiware on both consoles,
after redumping sysconfig to get mote to work without resyncing on rev2.

Even used the same sd from rev1 console on rev2 and just rename a working sd:/nands and make a new dump
just to keep all other usbloadergx settings the same. same story , blackscreen-freze on wiiware games.

And wads are all ok , as they work fine installed as channels on regular nand or emunand dumps from rev1, or on dolphin.

first syscheck from rev1 console which dumps working emunands
second syscheck from rev2 console which dumps nonworking emunands

On the console that has bootmii installed to boot2, u should also install bootmii as IOS, so it has both. Anyway that wasn't what you were asking for help with.

Why not just use a copy of the working emunand that you have and use it on both consoles?

Alternatively, you could extract the contents of a bootmii nand.bin backup using showmiiwads (or nandextract, etc). Also, you could use modmii to create a fresh/virgin emulated nand for u from scratch.

1) i though bootmii as boot2 was a more full proof and a better option of the two , what would i gain having both ?

2) Was under the impression that some things might be tied to the console , like miis with savegames. Or
some other things i have not ran in to.

And the idea was to figure out an easier way to sync the savegames between consoles .
and keep real nand as unmolested as possible.

thanx

no you can use the emunand on both wiis afaik. if you ever put it on the wii u, it's suggested you make a vwii emunand. you may have to inject the syscon to the emunand, so just set the location for your emunand and select that action. the syscon contains things like wiimote pairings and stuff. I'm assuming you'd have to do that if it's on another wii. though, it may only be for neek.

If u have bootmii installed as boot2, the only benefit to also having it as IOS is ease of access, so it can be launched via priiloader or the hbc or other apps by loading ios254

The emunand will have the console data as at the time it was created. Once the backup is made, changes and progress will update incrementally independently of the original. Like a road forking in 2 directions. If ever you want to sync them, just erase one of your emunands and duplicate the other.

Just tried showmiiwads to create a nand from scratch and also extract 2 initial botmii backups to sd,
all have the same problem with wiiware games blackscreen-freeze.
But mii channel seems to work, so it is partialy working .

Starting to wonder if something is wrong with the console, and if my original nand backups are buggered somehow.
A bit concerned if my nand backups will work if i ever have to restore nand.
rev2 console was the first one i hacked , and maybe i screwed something up.

Only thing that works on rev2 console is nand dump to emunand from rev1 console to play wiware.
